  • Amazing Product
I work for a game store, which has purchased two different machines in the past for about $6,000. One looks like a computer, and the other is water based. For a game store that does a lot of repair, my boss was not happy with the effectiveness of the machines, the cost per disc, replacement supply prices, and the fact that the machines would break down pretty regularly. Therefore, he asked me to start researching other products. I came across the JFJ Eyecon mini machine here on Amazon, and contacted the manufacturer for more information. I was skeptical at first that a machine of its size and cost could stand out versus the more expensive machines in the market, but they reassured me there is a 30-day unconditional money back guarantee, so I bought it. After two weeks of continually using this machine, I conclude that this is truly an outstanding product. It is very easy to use, cost effective, and truly optimizes the meaning of simplicity, effectiveness, and savings. My boss is very pleased with this machine, and even plans to sell the other two more expensive machines on ebay, so that he can purchase additional eyecon mini machines. In addition, I would like to mention that the instructions indicate that after a few repairs, you will see the true performance of the machine, and this is true. I did notice that once I used the machine for a little bit the results were impeccable. ... show more

  • Inferior Pads or Damaged Product
The media could not be loaded. I am writing this review after spending about 2 days attempted polishing disks and troubleshooting. I contacted seller with video, but havent yet got an answer if the disk-plate is defective; but maybe the Eyecon mini is simply an inferior design to JFJ Pro. The disk-plate of the machine wobbles slightly as I turn the knob used to secure disks in place(see video). I am guessing this is not by design, because other users report a high rate of success with their device. I have tried this device on 34 disks with 9 successes, for a success rate of 26.5%... I have used the device exclusively on xbox360 game disks. I followed the steps, starting with 15 second runs (two stripes of polish each time) until the pad is properly set. I then gave each disc 1 minute polish + 3 minutes cooldown(repeat with more compound) then clean and test the disk. In total, I spent between 20-25 mins on each disc. But this time estimate also includes trimming frayed strings the user manual calls "hairs" produced as the pad wears down(see photo). Trimming the "hairs" was a constant inconvenience done every few cycles. After attempting polishing 34 disks, I had to stop because both cloth pads are very worn; yet the bottle of polish compound is still ~75% full. (Again, maybe just a faulty device.) Users of JFJ Pro answered my Amazon questions stating Pro version (same price) uses "firm foam pads" which produce no frayed strings. Those foam pads wear down making a mess, but if it works that's what matters. So, while it is possible that I merely received a defective device with the disk-plate issue, it also appears the Eyecon is probably an inferior product design compared to the JFJ Pro. Other factors to consider are the Pro version is suitable for GameCube games, whereas Eyecon mini is not; the Pro version also includes sanding pads for deep scratches, while Eyecon mini does not. The two devices do use different cleaning compounds according to manufacturer. I hope this review helps improve the product design a bit. Update 2/5/25: So I returned the JFJ Eyecon and requested both in email as well as a message to seller on Amazon that the item be exchanged for JFJ Pro, which is listed at the same price. The JFJ Eyecon uses a different type of cloth pad(which quickly deteriorates), and the device I received had a wobbly disk plate. Unfortunately, the seller sent another of the same device, but this time the device itself was the only contents in the box - no polish, no microfiber cloth, no buffer pads, not even a user manual..... Since the first item at least came with the necessary supplies to use it and this one did not, it certainly seems intentional that the other items were absent. So, I re-taped the box and am sending it back ASAP as a RETURN instead of exchange. Disappointing customer service. To the seller/manufacturer: Read your product reviews and you will see that the poor rating of the Eyecon Mini is indicative of a the experience customers have with this particular product design, compared to the JFJ Pro... In the reviews of JFJ Pro, only 10% of users give the item a 1-star review; but with the Eyecon Mini, fully 25% or 1 in 4 users give THIS model a 1-star review. 25% is a HUGE ratio of 1-star reviews, and that should tell you this model really needs improvement. ... show more

  • Cleaning made easy
I will update this review as I use it more. I have been picking up hundreds of used movies and wanted something to clean them up with. After doing as much research as I could. I decided on this machine instead of the pro setup. So far I have done about 6 movies and it's super easy to use. The results have been pretty impressive to me for only have 1 pad. If you have a disc that is heavily scratched it may require the use for their pro machine which involves more sanding a 2-3 step process and multiple chemicals. The fact that it's all compacted down to one quick step on this machine is perfect for my use so far. ... show more

  • Excellent Machine
This product is night and day over the little Aleratec Disc Repair Plus I was using. It seemed to make more scratches than it repaired. The Eyecon was a good upgrade. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now. It seems to be very well built and takes care of light and medium scratches with ease. Deep scratches takes a lot of repetition however. A sanding pad would be a nice addition when ordering, but overall a very good product. I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Fix themall
My 8 yr old loves it

  • Worthy tool for large libraries you want to digitize
Small learning curve, doesn’t fix everything, like discs with bad sectors, but polished great. TIP: it is possible to cook a disc. The surface gets milky white. Just take a breath, wait for the pad AND the disc to cool, then polish using 15sec intervals. YouTube is your friend.

  • Does not work
I ordered the machine and it arrived on time. The am chine works but it ahs one big problem. You attach the disk to a holder then you close the cover which makes contact with a cleaning pad. The problem with my machine is that the cleaning pad only touches part of the disk. The pad should cover the disk at least very close to hole in the center of the disk. The machine that I got only covered approx. 1/3 of the disk. After a little haggling they decided to issue an RMA. That was over two weeks ago. I know that they received the package about 11 days ago and I have not heard from them. I am giving this machine only 1 star because of the problems with the amchine and the slow response time it seems from the vendor. ... show more

  • Affordable
Thing works great! Saved several discs I was ready to throw away. Made my money back before the first pad was even broke in.
