I am still seeking a paperclip chain made from round wire, and this is not it. It is hard to see in the pucture, but it is square wire. But I still like it and will wear it. The gold color is good. The clasp is sized well for the chain though I do not need to use it as I can slip this over my head. It is a substantial thickness and shows up nicely. I really like this chain overall. I wanted something light, cute, and easygoing, with no pendant, and this was perfect! I am very happy with the color, weight, and general fit/length of the 18 inch, 2.5mm white gold chain that I ordered. But after wearing it for about two days straight, I noticed that my neck started to get really itchy, which for me is a tell-tale sign of a metal sensitivity. I have many necklaces that are verified gold over sterling silver that I can wear comfortably for any length of time (that are also a bit more expensive, not coincidentally). So, despite the fact that I really like this necklace, I took two stars off of my rating because I don't find this necklace to be hypoallergenic despite the item description. ... show more

This chain is decent quality. It's pretty sturdy and easy to put on. It's a nice, chunky little chain. I got the 16 inch white gold plated version -- it's choker length and looks nice on. I will probably wear it with a decent sized pendant, but this is the kind of chain that you could wear on its own if you wanted to. It comes well packed in a gift box and resealable plastic bag.
