  • Impressive quality with a clever design
So I decided to go with a leather strap because I thought it would look nice and last a long time, but I wasn't looking to spend 100 dollars if I could help it, which, after much searching around, brought me to this strap. I went with this particular one because, despite being half the price of many other nice leather straps on Amazon, it's still advertised as full grain leather. I can honestly say I'm impressed with the quality and workmanship on offer here. It's well made, the leather is thick and clearly full grain as advertised, the stitching is straight and doesn't have any loose ends hanging out, the finish is beautiful and even...I could go on and on really, it's a very nice piece, and it looks great against the natural wood finish of my bass. It's reminiscent of riding tack; puts me in mind of something that came loose off a cowboy's brand new saddle, which I then used to hold up my guitar haha. The design is clever, too. I like that the adjustment holes go all the way around the strap, so I'm not limited by what the designer thought was the best length for his/her guitar. It's great that I can really play around with where my guitar hangs, and I like that the wider pad piece can be positioned wherever I want it to be on my shoulder depending on the angle I prefer to hang my guitar at. I especially like that it's easy to adjust the length compared to my other strap that requires a whole song and dance to adjust, where I have to unravel it, make an adjustment, check that it's good, then re-lace it. This design is miles better by comparison. It's just a simple peg-in-hole system that holds nice and sturdy and takes very little effort to change (some other people said it's really hard to get the pegs in and out of the holes, but I didn't have that problem; it takes firm pressure, sure, but I imagine most people could manage it without too much trouble). As others have mentioned, I also like the loop on the back end of the strap for the instrument cable, though it's not like miraculous or anything, just a nice touch that shows they really thought the whole thing out and probably had a real musician help them design it. The design overall is very clean and easy to manage, despite being more complicated than a normal strap. It all comes together nice and tidily. I do have one gripe about it, and it's pretty minor, but it is something I didn't think about before I bought it so I suppose I should share: so the way my old strap was designed, it didn't have a separate pad that could be shifted around. The whole thing is one piece of material that tapers in width from back to front. This strap has a moveable pad, kind of like what you'd find on a duffle bag (if you even want to call it a pad; it's not actually padded, just a wider piece of leather, but it's comfortable enough), a design which gives it two loose ends that can fold under or get caught on your shirt when you put it on and/or move it around to shift the angle of your guitar. It is a slight nuisance to have to adjust my shirt and the strap every time I put it on, and the thing does catch on the front and back of my shirt a bit when I adjust the guitar's position - not a lot, but enough to be kind of annoying. It probably doesn't help that I usually wear two shirts (a polo and an undershirt), so maybe just wearing one shirt will help, but honestly it's not worth even complaining about. Everything else about the thing is so nice about this strap that this minor quibble is almost not worth bothering to mention. However, there are a few nice-looking leather straps on this site that will not have this problem, as they are designed like my old strap, tapered in width from one end to the other, so if that's a deal-breaker for you it might be prudent to look elsewhere, but by my reckoning, they all appear to me to be of inferior quality, design, and/or their price is significantly higher than this one. In my opinion, this is the best deal I could find on Amazon for a leather strap, and I may even buy another one for my other guitar. It's a really good deal for what you get, and I love the way it looks, feels, functions - heck, I even like the way it smells. Solid purchase. ... show more

  • Comfortable and distributes weight evenly.

Very sturdy strap. I'm happy with it. The only con in using this strap is that the material on the underside of the strap grips my shirt and makes it a little annoying while adjusting but that can be a good thing since it won't likely move once it's adjusted where you want it. It doesn't breathe but no leather straps will so no complaints there. Packaging was really good. ... show more

  • Real leather. Super comfy.

Yes, it's real leather. Smells great. At this price I'll probably order another. The button holes work well with Dunlop straplocks.

  • Omg!!! Awesome!!!!
I have a couple guitars that are particularly heavy, as well as a fairly heavy bass guitar. After ordering this to try, I’ll be getting more, dedicated to THOSE instruments, it’s not stretchy like the neoprene type straps , it’s 2 layers of solid and heavy grade LEATHER, with a thin padding between but it literally feels like the heavier guitars weigh 10 pounds less, and my lighter guitars feel like feathers. I still prefer a soft suede type leather for my accoustics and light weights, for softness and this one is a bit stiffer than I like , but I’ve softened it a great deal by wiping it down with mineral oil. I’m sure time will help soften it even more. As far as quality of stitching and strap button holes and overall construction, I’ve seen straps that cost as much as 250$ that weren’t as well made as this. If you have a heavy instrument but don’t want one of those bouncy and weird looking neoprene straps, this is definitely the way to go. I’ll be buying at least 4 more. ... show more

  • Just... WOW!
I don’t write a lot of reviews. I use Amazon quite a bit and should probably write more... but I don’t. Generally I get what I expected when I order a product. On rare occasions products disappoint, but for the most part I get what I expected. Today was different. Today my expectation were met, and then flat out blown out of the water. This guitar strap blew my mind and so totally exceeded my expectations that I can’t stop messing with it. The leather is rich and thick and supple, the design was well thought out, and you can tell it was designed by a musician. The fittings... highest quality... I am just amazed. I play guitar and bass. I have quite a few instruments and have had straps from Gretsch, Fender, Ernie Ball etc... I also have straps I have commissioned from the finest leather craftsmen I have found. Straps that have cost many times more than this strap did, and this strap is right at the top of my favorites already. My wife got me a new bass guitar for Christmas and I began looking for a strap for it. I found this one and loved the retro styling and the adjustability, so I ordered one, thinking... “this will do until I can have one made”... Well I’m not looking to have one made any longer. In fact I may be ordering one or two more of these to replace some existing straps on other guitars. Comfort, adjustability, sturdy, hell... heavy duty doesn’t do this strap justice, and the oiled finish is just going to look better the more this strap is used. This Jeereal strap just oozes “Cool!”, and I immediately felt a confidence that this strap was up to the task and would securely hold my instrument no matter how raucous things get. 10/10 P. S. The loop on the bottom of the strap to secure the cord through... NICE TOUCH! ... show more
