    • Bright and very effective
First off, I do plan on returning these bulbs. But I wanted to leave a review anyway because they are surprisingly great! Too often a vendor will advertise an insanely high lumen count, but no matter how many light chips you can stick on a bulb, they almost always illuminate like a flood light without ever effectively focusing the light onto the ground. Instead, what matters most is how closely the position of the diodes/chips mirror the position of the filament in the stock bulb. Even though the position of the lights in these bulbs don't mimic the exact filament position in an ordinary 1156 bulb, it comes quite close. They also advertised an admittedly strong 50w of power. So I decided to take a chance and order them as replacements for my reverse lights. After installation, I was pleasantly surprised with their performance! They're very bright, and they focused the light much better than the previous pair of LEDs I had purchased. The only reason I'm returning these is because I also bought another pair from a different brand (Phinlion 3600 Lumens 1156 LED Backup Bulb Super Bright P21W) for comparison purposes, which ended up being just as bright as these bulbs but with a slightly more focused light spread when installed in my particular application (BMW E84 X1). BUT if it wasn't for those other bulbs, I would have kept these without hesitation.     • 100% worthwhile upgrade (Perfect for campers like me who want to save onboard battery life whenever camping off the grid.)
Simple & fast swap of juice-draining incandescent bulbs from our A-frame camper. These new bulbs are every bit as bright (if not a bit brighter) than the ones they replaced. Replacement took all of literally 30 seconds for both bulbs. Energy consumption is something along the lines of 1/11th the draw with LEDs. For boondocking this upgrade was a no-brainer. Super long life (listed as 50,000hours!) of LED bulbs means I should never have to replace them. The natural light range (4500) is a bit brighter than the warmer, yellowish light (3500) but not as annoying as the harsh bluish-white range of 5000+. Another bonus is that LED bulbs are much, much cooler to the touch than the incandescent bulbs. I swapped one out and turned it for a side-by-side comparison with the original bulbs. After being switched on for only a few seconds the incandescent was hot enough to burn my fingertips. Choose LEDs and say goodbye to that hassle, too! :-) Do yourself a favor and make the switch.     • Direct Fit Replacement for P21W Bulbs
After a week of research, I selected these as a replacement for a euro bulb in my car - and boy am I happy I paid a premium for them! These bulbs dropped straight into my 06 ' Audi as a replacement for my DRL's, and I couldn't be happier. They are approximately '6000 K' on the LED color scale, and match my HID's perfectly! They have two pins in the exact same positions as the euro bulb they replaced, and a nickel base (highly recommended by German auto manufacturers) - the only modification needed to prevent a "bulb out" warning was adding a 25W resistor in parallel. Let me repeat that a different way: These bulbs are *NOT* CANBUS compliant/ ready. They need companion resistors added to the circuit - the wattage of which corresponds directly to the rated output of the incandescent bulb they are replacing, which is usually printed on the base of the bulb itself. That being said, they are BRIGHT! They look incredible! Well done, JDM ASTAR. You have my business from here forward. **NOTE: I did *NOT* receive any free stuff or discounts, etc. for this review.     • Very very bright - day or night!
Wow - these are bright! Using them as reverse/back-up lights - very very pleased with their output. Definitely not another set of headlights back there - but if it's dark and there's something behind you, you'll see it! When parking in a dark structure where there are walls close by, these really light things up. Even during the daytime, these are very easy to see which is great backing out of parking spaces in busy parking lots. They are physically bigger then the OEM bulbs they replaced but in my installation there where no issues with them fitting or any compatibility issues - the installation was very easy and took all of 5 minutes if that. I feel a lot safer with these and would recommend them to anyone who doesn't already have a great set of reverse/backup lights. ... show more

    • Just what I was looking for.
So far so good, I put these in a Toro 12/32HXL Lawn Tractor. Extremely bright, they actually make the headlights functional on the mower, as most people know your lawn mower headlights always seem to be more for looks than functionality when you buy it right from the store. This is good being that I live in New England which means as the days get shorter I actually need light to mow towards the end of the season. Well built assembly, feels a little heavy (for a bulb) which usually goes hand in hand with quality. The lens on the end of the bulb is what makes the difference between this bulb and others in its class giving it a nice focused but wide beam, not a lot of scatter, even in a lawn mower mount which is possibly the worst test bed for this. Considering replacing my reverse lights in my pickup with these now. ... show more

    • Finally I can see!!
The media could not be loaded. My 2014 BMW 328i has exceptionally small reverse light cutouts. Combined with a dim incandescent light, I had struggled to see well while backing at night. These bulbs work GREAT. They're bright, very bright. They didn't pop any codes on the computer and they have been flicker free. Plug and play - massive improvement in functionality, and as a bonus the color and brightness make the car look a little more modern. Very happy! ... show more
