    • Improved a cracked car seat.

This did a nice job improving a cracked and torn leather seat in a car we were selling. The process takes time, patience is required and matching the color is the most difficult part. This is at least a 2 part process. The first step is a filler. I put double stick super adhesive tape between each side of a tear to serve as the base for the filler. Next, is the filler. You cover it with a texturized cover matching the texture to the grain of the leather you are repairing. This did not work all that well as it didn’t seem to have much of a texture to transfer to the filler. I ended up putting 2 layers of filler in. The color mixing is the more challenging part. I was matching a gray color. I got a decent match but it dried a bit darker than when wet. I used this for both a larger tear and some cracks. Because I repaired this when it was cold, it took awhile to dry. Have patience. This definitely was worth the effort and improved the look of the seat. ... show more

I had a 2" tear in a well used portion of the upper Cushion. I used the backing fabric with some leather glour I had on hand from a different repait then the supplied repair compound. I applied a good amount and it is still holding after about 6 weeks. Def worth the time and $.

It works, so that’s a plus. Easy to paint on. Dries and hardens as described in instructions. Issue is I had to mix the paints up myself! Arg, I could not get the color right. Lame! I’m not a mixologist.

I recently found a tear in my front driver side seat. I bought this hoping to mend the tear and make it less visible. I was able to "close" the tear, but found it difficult to match my seat color (light gray) with the colors provided. I got close, but when I removed the piece that imprints the fabric pattern only a mess was left underneath. I don't receommend, unless you have primary colored seats. ... show more

- Great color. - Very impressive adhesive. My large self has been sitting and sliding on my torn leather seat, with the patch work using this product. MAKE SURE you clean old leather with alcohol wipes the night before adding leather tape. -Quality made very durable.

    • All around disappointing

I knew that the pictures and advertisements for this were clearly too good to be true, but as a huge fan of JB Weld I assumed this would at least be decent. Matched the color quite closely, followed instructions to the letter and then discovered that it darkened considerably when it dried. Used on drivers seat in Subaru, it only partially fixed the peeling of the vinyl while more or less permanently filling the surrounding crevices with overly dark and non-removable glue. I was so hopeful when finished applying the repair and was a bit shocked at how terrible it looked and functioned after drying. I won’t say that my repair is invisible, but it will allow me to use an office chair for a little longer. The fake leather had cracked and this was a pretty easy fix. It doesn’t flex like the fabric does, so it can feel a little different when wearing shorts, but otherwise is just fine. I would happily buy this again. ... show more
