    • Improved a cracked car seat.

This did a nice job improving a cracked and torn leather seat in a car we were selling. The process takes time, patience is required and matching the color is the most difficult part. This is at least a 2 part process. The first step is a filler. I put double stick super adhesive tape between each side of a tear to serve as the base for the filler. Next, is the filler. You cover it with a texturized cover matching the texture to the grain of the leather you are repairing. This did not work all that well as it didn’t seem to have much of a texture to transfer to the filler. I ended up putting 2 layers of filler in. The color mixing is the more challenging part. I was matching a gray color. I got a decent match but it dried a bit darker than when wet. I used this for both a larger tear and some cracks. Because I repaired this when it was cold, it took awhile to dry. Have patience. This definitely was worth the effort and improved the look of the seat. ... show more

I won’t say that my repair is invisible, but it will allow me to use an office chair for a little longer. The fake leather had cracked and this was a pretty easy fix. It doesn’t flex like the fabric does, so it can feel a little different when wearing shorts, but otherwise is just fine. I would happily buy this again. ... show more

First, be mindful that kit contains material to repair no more than a 2”x2” area, as that’s the amount of backing material supplied. In our case, we tried repairing a 1-1/2” tear, which used up about half the backing fabric supplied. Once the vinyl glue dries, it gets top coated with the color repair material. This is where your artistic talents will be tested. Second photo shows same area after drying and before top coat. The repair makes the area noticeably stiffer - less supple, due to the glue involved. Dries white, would have expected it to be clear to be less noticeable. ... show more

    • Didn't do the Job Well at All

I recently found a tear in my front driver side seat. I bought this hoping to mend the tear and make it less visible. I was able to "close" the tear, but found it difficult to match my seat color (light gray) with the colors provided. I got close, but when I removed the piece that imprints the fabric pattern only a mess was left underneath. I don't receommend, unless you have primary colored seats. ... show more

Basically this is white glue and variety of colored glues, great for stopping early tears, Not sure about fixing large rips or openings. J.B. Weld line of excellent products.

    • Adhesive not the best

The leather for the car seat for a tear. Got this product as I have really liked other adhesive by JB Weld. However the adhesive that came with this did not hold. Ended up having success with super glue. The color matched fine for the black leather.
