We bought this for our four year old who is only 42lbs and special needs. It was a good price and came in a box, which is what we wanted. We unboxed it and let it air out and fluff up for the recommended 24hrs and it was plenty of time for it to reach its full 8 inch size. IT did NOT have any odors or smells which was nice. We put a waterproof mattress protector around it (the zip up kind) to keep it protected from any nighttime potty accidents. He loves this bed and honestly so do I. I used to hate bedtime before we got this because of the urine smell on his old very firm mattress. It was definitely our fault for not buying a waterproof protector for his previous bed. If you have a child in the potty training stage I definitely recommend that you get one as to not destroy or have to replace the whole mattress like we did. Now I always enjoy putting him to bed and his new bed is super comfortable so it's nice to lay down on it with him and read to him and tell him stories and still be comfortable. I would recommend this mattress, it definitely is more comfortable than my current bed and when I lay down on it it seems to help with my back pain, so we are considering getting the king size for ourselves. The comfort is just amazing and it has a good amount of firmness to it so you don't sink in and it's not hard to get up from. It is also very cool to the skin if your a hot sleeper this is definitely something I would recommend. It's not too firm because it has the perfect amount of softness to it to where it's very comfortable and yes I have fallen asleep on it several times putting my son to bed and ended up just falling asleep with him. I have 4 herniated disc in my lower spine and this bed is a dream. I would recommend this to anyone who suffers from pain in their back in the morning when getting out of bed from laying flat. This bed seemed to actually conform to my natural curves and not so much where your sinking because of the perfect amount of firmness/softness to it. This mattress can get hot at times. It doesn’t stay on my frame I bought separately (not their frame a different company). Very comfortable, firm but soft at the same time. Get it if you need something temporary. (King Size - 10 inches thick)

We obviously don't know how well it'll last, but so far it's ideal. The only disappointment was the delay getting it -- Amazon said we'd get it in a bit over a week, but didn't ship it from California until the date we were supposed to receive it. After reading lots of reviews for different mattresses we were a little worried it would take too long to expand, or wouldn't fully expand, but in this case our fears were groundless. Set the mattress on the bed frame, and when we removed the plastic wrapping it inflated about 90% instantly, reaching full size in a couple of hours. If there was any odor or fumes it was slight, and overwhelmed by the smell of the wood we placed on the wire grid bed frame beforehand. It is a little on the firm side, but we've been sleeping great, with our only concern being that you have to be a little more careful getting out of bed, since unlike our old spring mattress, there's little to no extra edge support. ... show more

It's thick, comes with a removable cover you can machine wash, and keeps its shape. It came in a box and it only took us 3 mins to set it up and let it puff up.
