These are amazing storage bins. They have revolutionized how I store things because they are truly airtight and keep out moisture and pests thanks to the foam seal and clamps. I love them. But occasionally you can get a bad batch, so it's important to inspect them when they arrive. Recently I received some that had small cracks in various places and the plastic "hinges" that hold the black clamps in place were broken/not fully formed or the holes were not punched through all the way so the clamps wouldn't stay in place (which means you can't seal the bin shut). I have also received ones with clamps missing. I don't think these are shipping damage but rather quality control issues. Most of the bins I've ordered have been in perfect condition but some have been defective -- maybe 25% of the time -- and I've returned them. So just double check -- and IRIS maybe work on your quality control! But amazing product when they aren't defective or damaged. Also know that the wheel bed on the 103 quart bins with wheels are weak points. I had a few that cracked after a year or so. Granted they were full and we stacked them so there was a lot of weight on the bottom ones. So if you get those, maybe don't stack them. Also sometimes the foam liner comes out -- would be great if these were glued into the top. But you could easily get some double-sided tape and tape them in or glue them yourself. ... show more

I’ve bought this twice. Store my ornaments in them. Wanted something I could see in but helps protect against water damage. The containers are strong too. One handle broke, but I think it was my fault. Still gets a great seal from possible water damage. Had something in the past that got water damage when a pipe leaked in a wall. boxes are nice but one of the handles is snapped in half when it arrived. I do not want to return the item, can you send me a replacement handle please. Id suggest putting the handles inside the boxes to that they do not get squished/broken

I was excited about the fact that these bins don’t taper toward the bottom. I dislike that I loose storage space in other bins because they taper. I need 20 of these bins for the overhead shelves in my garage and I want them to all match. I’ve ordered 6 boxes with four bins in each box and I’ve sent three boxes of four bins back. The ones that were damaged were mostly lids. Plastic pieces that somehow were snapped off. The lids were otherwise in tact and may have been useable, but I’m not going to pay full price for damaged goods. Another common issue was damaged latches. The latches were broken in one end or another. Another issue I have with these bins is that the latches fit into the base of the bin with two small pieces of the plastic that protrude from the latch and are supposed to fit into holes in the base of the bin. On some of the bins, the holes aren’t even there, so the likelihood that the latch would always stay in place is little to none. Some of the holes are so close to the edge that it wouldn’t take much to pull the latch enough that the plastic could split. And on some of the bins, that’s what happened. Last of all, the process of sending these back is fairly simple, but I have to send four back even if two or three of them are in perfectly good shape. And it takes several weeks to be refunded even thought they know the delivery people have already picked them up. All of this trouble and I still don’t have 20 working bins. And they raised the price since my last attempt! I paid a total of $127 plus change per box the first six times. If I order some more it will now cost me $140! ... show more

Really wasn't sure how many stars to leave here, 5 or 1, depending. I've bought a lot of these boxes. Provided you're holding a completely uncracked full up example, they're my favorite storage box, heavy duty, good latches, stack well. However I'm very frustrated right now, as the incidence of them being broken upon arrival is insane: a couple patently shattered examples, but every single lid and box REQUIRES careful inspection for cracks, especially around fasteners, structural ribs, and the nubs on the side of the black fasteners. I strongly reccomend to the manufacturer to add some form of padding to their shipping box, add thickness to these areas, or likely both. Many of the photos I've uploaded are relatively minor, but when I'm paying more for the name brand made in America heavy duty long term storage sealed option, "just a little bit" broken/chipped/cracked upon arrival is nowhere close to acceptable. I hate to say it, but if you need 8 good boxes, I would order at least 12; in my experience you'll have no problem making up a 4x4 set of breaks from this order to return. ... show more
