The Gnanlen iPad Pencil 2nd Generation is a very good, cheaper alternative to the Apple Pencil. It worked so well that I ended up getting another for my daughter and recommended it to my sister for my niece's iPad. To be fair, I am not an Apple user, but I need an iPad for work. I've never owned an Apple Pencil, so I can't compare directly, but for my needs, this works great. This one is GREAT!! I honestly like it more than my Apple one. First off, it lights up to let you know it’s on. Comes with 2 extra tips, looks and feel just like the Apple, magnetic and attaches to the side of your iPad to charge, and I could go on and on! This pencil works great, and is visually identical to an Apple Pencil. It’s much cheaper, and does the same thing. Didn’t experience any delay or lag when using it. Also charges on the side of the iPad perfectly.

Really like this pen. Have an Apple pen that works but I am constantly misplacing it. It of course, is white and too darned expensive to get another one. Got this one in purple, easier to find and works flawlessly. I really like that it turns itself on when you put it on the magnetic strip and REALLY like the status light on the end. The price is reasonable and it is a much better pen than the Apple pen. It charges fast and the battery lasts a long time. My only concern is the magnet is not very strong and it does not take much to dislodge the pen. Other than that it would be a full 5 stars. Now it is 4.75! ... show more

I travel extensively and was looking for two unique solutions for different purposes and travel needs: 1) add a keyboard for setting up my iPad to more efficiently respond to business email traffic and 2) create a streamlined package that did not require using my finger all the time. This review focuses on setup #2. I had read some reviews about the Apple Pencil and thought it might be an option for me; however, I am not an artist and was looking to achieve a different purpose with the pencil. So in looking at the myriad of options, I began to investigate a less expensive stylus option. This lead me to Gnanlen iPad Pencil. The strong reviews and excellent price strongly influenced my decision process. Now two weeks later after buying this stylus I am hooked. It has completely changed how I use my iPad Pro, to the point that I rarely use my nice keyboard. The pencil is very accurate and lightweight. The magnetic charging works as advertised and the ease of selecting apps and manipulating data is a strong point. I have tried writing notes and converting them to digital characters and that appears to be accurate as well, but this is not something I plan to do with my iPad. So what do I use it the most for, photo manipulation. The pencil is very effective in allowing me to work on my photos with my various photo editing applications. I took my iPad and stylus on my most recent vacation and have really enjoyed the accuracy and ease of doing photo editing with my new stylus. I have only one minor future wish and that is associated with the magnetic connection point with the iPad. I would like to see a stronger magnetic attachment to more effectively bind the stylus with the iPad, when in transit. I strongly recommend this handy tool if you are like me and love a clean screen on your iPad without fingerprint traces :). ... show more
