I purchased this urn after my brother passed unexpectedly. Funds were limited and the ones at the funeral home were so expensive. I am glad that this is the one we picked. It is exactly like the pictures and very secure. I know this part is a bit morbid but it may be helpful- the size was just right. The funeral home gave him back to us in a plastic box and we were able to put the entire plastic box inside the urn. My brother was 6"2 and 200lbs so it will hold an average adult male with no issue. ... show more

Believe it or not I bought this for my own ashes. Not wanting my kids to have to go through the pain and anguish of what to put my remains in. I live in the mountains on 5 acres and they will bury it on top of a hill overlooking "Tava' Kaa-vi" ( The Sun Mountain) which is the Native American Ute's name for Pike's Peak. As you can imagine its tough to find just the right container. With many hours of looking as I could, and weeding out the liar, I ended up going with my heart on this one. The packing on this box at first I thought might be excessive. Until I got it out and got my 1st look. I'm sure many have said the same thing, but wow, it's so much more beautiful than I expected. The finish work on it is nothing short of flawless. While my heart is devastated now, I can say, this is a fitting box as clearly love went into making this. And it is noticed. My mom passed and she was cremated. When in the funeral home in the room with all the urns I had a panic attack like I've never experienced. My mother's passing was sudden and very unexpected. Not to mention my family was/is already in turmoil over other life changes and circumstances. The price of the urns along with the plainness and lack of heart were never even an option. I looked on Amazon not really sure I'd even find anything decent or that I'd like. When I saw this urn I knew it was exactly what I wanted for my mom. It fit her to a T.
