  • Makes healthy simple and easy!
I checked this book out of the library and loved it so much I had to buy it! Great recipes and the way she explains healthy eating is straightforward, simple and inspiring! We've tried several of the recipes that are now staples in our house and there's still so many more we want to try! I especially love the section at the beginning, it's more than a recipe book, it's like having a friend encouraging you along the journey to a healthier lifestyle! ... show more

  • My current kitchen bible!
This book is absolutely amazing! I’m 39 and have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. I’ve yo-yo’d from 137 to 212 and back and back and back again. I did keto back in 2017 and it worked fabulously. But I was eating nothing but beef and bacon thinking it was fine, because hey, keto. However, I was eating “dirty” and wasn’t receiving the nutrients my body needed to thrive. And, just like every other fad diet, it’s impossible to maintain and I gained back all the weight I lost and then some. I finally made a conscious decision to stop with dieting and to start eating clean and healthy, which I knew would be best for my body and my overall well-being and also easy to maintain as an actual lifestyle. However, I had no idea how to go about doing so or even where to begin. So I decided to scour Amazon and thankfully I found this book. It is now a part of my everyday cooking. I’ll admit I’m only on week two of incorporating these meals into my life, but I haven’t felt this good in ages. No more processed foods or refined sugar. Just organic, clean, and delicious goodies from now on. And no more of that dreadful “keto flu” either 🤮 I’ve also found the recipes I’ve tried so far to be fairly easy. There are definitely some specialty ingredients you’ll need (coconut aminos, arrowroot flour etc) which might be hard to find in stores, but I’ve had no problem finding them here on Amazon. They’re not all necessarily “cheap”, but for me personally, it’s worth it. With all this being said, I’d like to add two things- 1. I despise the instapot. Had one, hated it, trashed it. So if you’re like me in that aspect, just know that you’ll have to do a bit of researching and/or tweaking in order to make a few of the recipes offered in the book. But don’t let that discourage you. Most of the recipes don’t call for an instapot. I do recommend getting an air fryer, though. 2. If you make the ranch dressing, which I just love, be sure to let it sit in the fridge over night before using. Otherwise you’ll taste nothing but avocado oil. Or, if you need it right away, you could maybe try cutting the oil by 1/4 and increasing the sour cream by 1/8-1/4. Anywho, I hope this review is helpful and that more people are able to enjoy these foods as much as I and my family do. Happy healthy eating, y’all! ... show more

  • Puts you at total ease for gluten free life.
I got the first Instant loss book a little less than a year ago. I had actually been changing our pantry over from regular flour to almond and coconut. Started using arrow root and having chia seeds on hand. So needless to say I had to get the second book, it was so obvious that it was what our life long diet was evolving into. And it has not disappointed! My fiancé is 100% gluten free and it’s been a lot of trial and error with coming this far. It was so wonderful to get this cook and and for the both of us to look through and find recipes we will both love and are excited to eat. To see EVERYTHING is gluten free, which is just so relaxing! Also dairy free options, bonus of vegan recipes! Simple and tasty. The meal prep plan is really great with the added page numbers. We will be putting it to use this coming year. The smoothie list was excellent, it just takes the planning out of the way giving us the straight to do list we need. The only thing I was sad about was the recipes I could’ve used for Thanksgiving this year!!! Lol But I will be sure to have them handy for next year, and I will try to whip some up for Christmas! ... show more

  • Eat healthy food that’s easy to make!
A friend recommended this book for the delicious recipes. I decided to try it for 28 days. I wasn’t sure if I could keep up on the “clean” food prep and cooking but I love a good challenge. I was a bit overwhelmed in the beginning. One thing I wish this book had was a grocery list. However, I managed to pull it together, get the groceries and attack the meal plan for week 1. You do not have to do the meal plan, but there are 4 weeks included so I decided to do it. Here are my thoughts- Cons- no grocery list Need lots of kitchen equipment to be successful No alternate directions for many of the recipes No nutrition listed Some recipes don’t have a serving size Pros- delicious food Lots of recipes Meal plans Suggestions on how to make things allergy/dairy free Most are quick Once a week prep suggestions I had most of the kitchen equipment. But, you’ll want an instapot and good blender to start. An immersion blender and air fryer are also suggested. I didn’t have a Bundt pan for the instapot, so I adapted the pictured recipe for the oven. It was easy peasy. So you may need make some adaptations. I look up calories by tracking in an app. I know the author says it’s not needed, but for me it is. It’s a little cumbersome to have to load all the ingredients in an app every time I make something just for nutrition info. But, it’s worth it because the food is good. I also noticed on some recipes a serving size is not suggested. This is mainly dips and things of that nature. It would be nice if they were included. Food takes me just a few minutes to prepare. It took roughly 3 hours in a messy kitchen with no idea what I was doing to meal prep for week 1. I am convinced I could do the same thing in half the time now that I get what to do. So far, I’ve made 16 meals/snacks. Overall, I love it! I will continue my 28 day cooking streak and probably but her 1st cookbook too.
