Tastes good. For sure not on the same level as paldo brand sauce for black bean, but it is good nonetheless. There is actually more sauce than I expected, and I used about 120ml of water instead of 100. It would be good with some stir fried onion and cabbage to make a healthier meal out of it. We tried both jjajang and sweet and mild. We enjoyed both flavors. I read reviews and got an idea of how everyone cooked and replicated. I boiled the rice cakes for 6 minutes then transfered to frying pan with half cup of the reserved liquid and the 2 packets of seasoning. Once it reached boiling, lower temp to low and cook for 11 minutes. Each flavor has a bit of a kick but not overpowering spice. We added mozzarella cheese and it took these cakes to the next level, yummmm. Be warned, though the package says 1 serving, it is easily enough for 2 people. (Well an adult and a 10 year old in my case) The cakes are very filling. Ordering another today, hopefully the cheese is as good as the other 2. ... show more

I love tteokbokki, so when I found the different flavors put out by Yoppokki, I wanted to try the all. While the other flavors (regular sweet and spicy, cheese, onion butter) all have a sweet background flavor to them, the jjajang flavor is completely savory. It's definitely a nice alternative for those who aren't as fond of the sweet notes. Still delicious though. ... show more

This brand has the best flavour of sauces, this one being my favourite. It's not overpowering, but it isn't at all lacking either. Perfect amount of spice and the sauce thickens up perfectly if you follow the instructions. The directions are very easy to follow and the rice cakes come out perfect every time.     • Chewy, Bouncy, and Flavorful.
Absolute Favorite Flavor. Cook up nicely (takes a long time) to get to bouncy chewy texture. I usually added a can of black beans, and sauteed onions, mushrooms. I've added Kale, and green cabbage as well. I love this brand and have tried the other flavors also.

These are delicious! A bit expensive, but delicious nonetheless! This is probably my favorite flavor out of all of the rice cakes that I’ve tried. It’s not very spicy compared to the other flavors though. The chewy texture of the rice cakes isn’t for everyone, but I love it personally! Just a warning, these come with 2 packages, in both packages is 2 servings (4 servings in all), but the rice cakes aren’t separately packaged in each package. This means you’ll have to cook the second serving soon after opening, or it expires quickly. ... show more

These are pretty tasty, the rice cakes are nice and chewy and the sauce is the perfect consistency. My only complaint is it is a tad spicy, spicier than any jjajang I’ve had before. So if you don’t have any tolerance to spice I would avoid it. I do like it though. And it’s very filling.

    • Taste wasn’t very good
I don’t like this flavor at all. It was very butter tasting and it just wasn’t a good flavor I don’t recommend this flavor at all especially if you’re new to buying these kind of items. I’d say go fit ten cheese flavor it tasted a loooot better. It’s also very very thick so keep that in mind
