I purchased this Insnug Pottery Wheel Art Craft Kit with Polymer Air Dry Clay for our granddaughter for Christmas. It comes with everything stated on the components list; pottery wheel, 2-pack air-dry clay, sponge, color set, palette for mixing, carving tool, carving stand, tangent, dotting pen, gem stickers, table cover, screwer. What it did not come with that I did not realize is three "C" batteries, so you will need to order these as well. Luckily, I have time to order before Christmas. That is a size I don't usually have around. Our granddaughter is 6 and this is good for her age (with adult help). This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! ... show more

My daughter purchased this with her own money after her 9th birthday rolled around. She wanted to try making vases and bowl type things. She was able to set it up and start spinning clay on her own. She did say that it is more difficult to do than she thought it would be, so it definitely has a learning curve. She did eventually have the patience to make a little bowl to keep earrings in. We let it dry outside for a few days, but I suppose it could go in the oven to dry as well. I do wish this came in some sort of case or resealable box to keep it in. There’s a few parts to it and we’ve lost a few items and I don’t have a convenient place to store the spinning wheel (especially since it’s covered in clay splatter). But I do see this as being a great gift for a creative kiddo or someone interested in trying out spinning clay. It’s fun and easy to use! ... show more

I think I had higher expectations than I should have. While it turns and has the components of a pottery wheel, the turntable itself is stopped easily with very little pressure making it hard to really shape anything. You pretty much have to shape the clay before you put it on there.

The box was open. It did not come with clay or half the paint. It was described as great for a 10-12 year old. This looks like something for a 5 year old. Very disappointed. It is for a birthday present for my grand daughter. No time to replace it or exchange it before the big day. So I guess I'm just out of luck. Guess I'll be shopping in the store for a replacement gift. What a rip! ... show more
