The stairs are narrower than the pictures make them look. I wonder if the product changed since the marketing photos were taken. I have the stairs lengthwise against the bed for stability and convenience. I think the stairs would be fine situated obliquely to the bed. The stairs are sturdy, easy to grip by a pet, and easy to move around. They have the same smell as our Tempurpedic mattress had years ago, which is nice in a strange way. ... show more

This is an excellent ramp for dogs that want/need to get up on a high bed. It's firm, stable and there's no 'putting it together.' It arrives all smooshed up in plastic wrap, then springs into shape when the wrap is removed. To get Sophie, my dog, to try it, I strategically placed dog treats along the ramp, which is all she needed to give it a try. I bought these stairs for my dog who recently went blind. He had accidentally fallen off my bed because the steps I had prior were too short for my new bed frame. These steps are the perfect height! He can find the top of them very easily and climb down safely. I have an 8-year-old, 5lbs, partially blind dog who is not easily trainable. We purchased these pet stairs due to her not being able to see the ground very well, so she could jump up onto the couch but would get stuck there. We bought these pet stairs and slowly worked on coaxing her up and down them using treats. I mentioned that my dog is not easily trainable; she is not easily food motivated and she doesn’t always retain what she is taught. Since training her with this she has become a pro at getting up and down the stairs. The material is grippy enough that I don’t worry about her sliding off them but soft enough that she wasn’t opposed to walking on them. Since buying the first set for the couch, we have purchased another set for our bed. We are moving into our first home and we will have another couch there; I plan on buying another set for that couch. The cover is easy to remove and wash, and the colors go with pretty much everything. My one request is I wish they made a cover in brown. Other than that, this product is perfect.
