I read a lot a the reviews and we had no problems installing this shelf. If you are hanging the shelf higher flip it so the screws are on top then you won’t see them while sitting. If you need more brackets you are not installing it correctly or you are putting too much stuff on the shelf. Great buy, looks great, I am buying more. ... show more

    • Easy to install
I installed this shelf above the window behind my kitchen sink that looks into my backyard. I found installation to be super easy. (I actually found the instructions after I had already installed the bracket. It was that easy.) I put the bracket above the window and marked five holes. (There are more than five holes in the bracket but there aren't enough screws for all those holes.) I was sure to put the bracket up with the arrow pointing towards the ceiling to avoid possible drooping of the shelf. There are only two holes in the bracket bottom. One on each corner. The rest of the holes are along the top of the bracket. For me, the two bottom screws hit the header above the window so that was good and solid. I drilled pilot holes for those two screws. Three more screws would go into just sheet rock above the window. I made three holes, tapped the anchors part way in and screwed them in the rest of the way using a screw driver. I found the anchors to be very solid. Everyone says the anchors are low quality, but I feel the opposite. I made holes for them, tapped them in and then screwed them in until they were flush with the wall surface. That’s when I put the bracket up and put all five screws in. I actually got six screws with my shelf, but only three anchors. So, one screw per anchor and one screw in the bottom left and right corners directly into the window header. Should I have gotten four anchors? I don’t know and I don’t care. My shelf is plenty sturdy. I admit there is an imperceptible droop. You literally can’t see it. I placed a rolling pin on the shelf and it did roll off the edge, but the droop is so insignificant that it’s unnoticeable. I used a level to check it and it’s less than half a bubble off. Acceptable. Anyone who has significant droop may possibly have installed the bracket upside down or their wall is out of plumb. I have two quibbles. I'm not quite in love with how dark the shelf is. I would rather of had a walnut or pecan, but those weren’t an option. Espresso was the closest I could get. It does look even darker than the picture in the listing. It doesn’t match my existing kitchen cupboards, but the only person I have to please is me and I’m happy with it. Also, there are holes in the top of the shelf and screws provided to screw in the support. I was never able to get these screwed in. I finally just gave up trying. The shelf is plenty stable without them and I find it extremely unlikely that it will move around much. At this low price I think this is an excellent product. Not real wood of course, but I didn’t expect it to be. If I had another place where this shelf would work for me I would certainly buy another. ... show more

Luckily I read the reviews ahead of time and ordered stronger anchors instead of the plastic ones that came with it. But the shelf came damaged. It’s a small chip on the top so I opted to keep it as it isn’t visible how we’re using it and the shelf is inexpensive. Overall I’m happy with the shelf.     • Nice looking shelves, that are quick and easy to install.
My wife recently asked me to add some shelving to the closet in her office at home. After quickly measuring, I found these on Amazon and made a purchase. The shelves are a nice brown color, with a thicker veneer, so I imagine (hope) they’ll last for a while. The mounting bracket was easy to install in the wall; though, it’s be nice if they included enough screws/anchors to fit each and every hole. Used some additional ones I had laying around, and it’s solid as a rock on the wall. The shelf is currently holding a decent amount of books, and school supplies, and hasn’t started buckling or wobbling yet (I purchased this months ago) Would definitely recommend this shelf, but do yourself a favor and get some extra anchors at Home Depot, so you can make sure you install it securely. ... show more

    • Shelf is great, but requires more drywall anchors
The media could not be loaded. Shelf is light, (like recycled cardboard kinda material) but with the correct amount of drywall anchors, they only provide 2, yet there’s like 20 spots on the metal bracket… if you only use 2 then it’s gonna fail without a doubt. The bad reviews and videos I garuntee are just from that exact thing. I was worried about design and mounting system but it wasn’t bad at all, if you add the extra anchors. Only gave sturdiness 4 stars instead of 5 because there should’ve been at least 4 drywall anchors…. At the minimum… I used about 8-10 and it doesn’t sag or move at all. Horrible to think to only send this out with 2 anchors.. I mean I went into plaster and there’s enough spots to hit some studs… but screws ain’t long enough to get a decent bite if you find them.     • Big shelf, good deal, not solid wood
Biggest floating shelf I've found at a good price. It is hollow though not solid wood. Comes with a mounting bracket and hardware including dry wall studs. Brackets is long flat piece with 3 arms sticking out. Shelf has 3 holes at the back that slides on to bracket. Everything screws into place. You will need a stud finder and level. Shelf is sturdy enough for home decor, photo frames, etc but I wouldn't use it for a TV stand or anything super heavy. ... show more

    • Met our needs for shelf to hold just a little bit of weight
We got this just to hold some Christmas garland under our wall-mounted TV. So we've not put much weight on it. But it worked well for us. Only four stars because the mounting bracket is. Such that the shelve is not horizontal. It slopes down towards the wall quite a bit so is quite noticable. I'll be monkeying around with the mounting bracket to try to correct this. ... show more
