I was surprised at the actual wood planks used on this dog house. Seem to be real cedar given the look, feel and smell. The overall quality is good with the provided steel frame and poly vinyl door. This dog house is intended for our dog to use during the day when we are not home. Simple and provide shelter from rain and wind. I have 2 complaints: 1. The plastic base pieces that insert into the vertical corner posts are too brittle. I split 2 of the base pieces upon inserting the steel corner posts. Not the end of the world as the house still functions. 2. The overall size of this dog house is not as advertised. The dimensions noted are taken from the roof and not the actual walls. The overall dimensions of the house are 3” less in width and length. If your dog is taller than 20” and weighs more than 30 pounds I’d consider looking for a larger unit. This will end up being a temporary for us while we continue looking for a better sized dog house. ... show more

Does not come with insulation as it says it does. I ordered mine with insulation and nope it was not in the box. False advertisement. I will have to return.

It was supposed to be insulated. It showed in the video it had a liner. Does not. I live in a super cold area and needed it to have the liner. I have contacted Amazon but I doubt they they will respond. I want the liner or my money back. It's already put together. So im not sending it back back they need to make it right. Not insulated. We purchased this doghouse to feed feral cats and to protect the automatic feeder from the elements. The large size and the hinged roof make it easy to fill the feeder. The wood smells and looks good, and it was fairly easy to assemble. I suppose one person could put this doghouse together, but it was much easier with two people. During the winter months we may repurpose it as a cathouse where the cats could sleep and stay warm. ... show more

It’s pretty sturdy, it looks really nice once assembled. I will say I broke a sweat just trying to get the legs in the “feet” I cussed way too many times. When it came to putting it together I about decided to burn it in a bonfire outback.. but once I got the groove I was pleased with the finished product. Definitely takes longer than 30 min unless I’m just an idiot. Also would recommend 2 people, I about had an aneurism holding everything together while trying to also put screws in. If you can get past all of that, it is pretty nice looking. Now we shall see if the dog wins or the durability of the dog house is substantial. ... show more
