Description

Incra MITER1000SE Miter Gauge Special Edition w/ Telescoping Fence & Dual Flip Shop Stop Engraved stainless steel primary scale for precision accuracy 41 laser cut V-stops for extreme accuracy at all popular angles Patented Glide LOCK miter bar with 6 expansion points for quick repeats 18- to 31-inch telescoping incremental miter fence for handling a variety of stock widths INCRA Flip Shop Stop-Fence Positioner for optimal mitering accuracy. A good table saw comes with a perfectly good miter gauge. But this Incra is perfectly great. It’s precise, versatile, infinitely adjustable and custom-fits to your miter gauge slot. You’re probably familiar with the Incra name because of their fantastic dovetail and box-joint-making jigs, but they’ve got a wide product line all with precision at the top of the list. An ingenious flip-stop locks down at any point along the fence for repeatable cuts, and it flips out of the way without disturbing your placement if you have other cuts to make as well. The fence actually telescopes out, from a closed length of 18 inches to a fully extended 30 inches for superior stock stability. The miter gauge itself has 41 detents in 5-degree increments across the entire 180 degrees, with special stops at 22-1/2 and 67-1/2 degrees, all gauged by angle indexing teeth for unparalleled accuracy. In addition, you can make 1/10th-degree adjustments with the stainless steel vernier cursor. The thing we like best about this jig is its ability to custom fit to your miter gauge groove, courtesy of six disks along the length of the slot bar. With a turn of an allen wrench, each one expands or contracts individually to get you the absolute best fit on your table, leaving you with zero play between bar and channel and zero chance for error. Incra’s also designed a neat top-mounted tab that fits a T-slot and removes in a few second for plain channels, letting you move the jig from your T-slotted table saw to other tools with a standard groove, such as a router table. We’re pretty taken with this setup, and we think anyone who craves precision will love it, too.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); From the Manufacturer The Miter 1000 Special Edition builds on the excellent foundation provided by the Miter 1000. The Incra exclusive AngleLOCK Indexing System delivers 41 lock solid angle stops in 5° increments over a full 180° range. Combine this with the included GlideLOCK Miter Bar, Telescoping IncraLOCK Cuto-off Fence and the Incra Flip Shop Stop, and you'll easily achieve mitering accuracy that you never thought possible. Whether it's your basic 90° cut-off, simple picture frames, or a 20-sided object, the Miter1000SE by Incra deiivers perfect, repeatable accuracy.... First time, Every time, Any angle. Six expansion disks adjust both sides of the bar for ZERO side play, anti- friction travel on all table saws with standard 3/4" x 3/8" or near-standard miter gauge channels, including Delta, Craftsman, imports, etc. This means that all of INCRA's incredible precision will actually show up in your work because the bar CAN'T wiggle around in the miter slot. This Special Edition Miter Fence telescopes from 18" to a full 31" length. Includes the Dual Flip Shop Stop and Incra's patented Automatic Positioning Control. Precision angle indexing teeth are laser cut in solid steel to lock in positive angle stops every 5 degrees over a 180 degrees range, with special stops at 22-1/2 degrees and 67-1/2 degrees. A stainless steel vernier cursor delivers an incredible 1/10th degree resolution between fixed steps. See more

  • Well made miter gauge (use grease when adjusting miter slot!)
ORIGINAL 4 STAR REVIEW - UPDATE TO FIVE STAR BELOW: I really love the design of this miter gauge, it is well built and well engineered except one facet, the miter slot adjustment is completely ineffective. I tighten the adjustment screws down and they bottom out before the disks even begin to expand. Since the disks initially sit inboard of bar, they provide no value. I was initially going to rate this three stars instead of four, but I went ahead and did the math about how much tolerance that added to the repeatability of cuts and found that it is so small it's pretty much not worth thinking about. My saw is a Skilsaw SPT99-12 so that is for mine, I can't speak for other saws and that is why I am only giving it four stars. If only the slot width adjusters worked and removed the tiny bit of slop in the miter slot, this would be a five star product, hands down. Okay, so that covered the reason for the loss of one star, some of the other things I really like are the design of how this is setup to provide positive angle stops that can be used for quick measurements, or you can not use that part and just tighten the hand screw and set the angle wherever you need it to be. The flip stop is handy too. It uses a rough surface to give itself traction from being bumped (since it uses plastic thumbscrews to tighten it in position), but I think that design is going to work well, the plastic will never seize up in the aluminum, and the plastic gripper material they use really seems to get a positive hold of the stop. The only thing that I am curious about is how that surface for the stopper will hold up over time. I have a feeling it is going to be just fine as it looks to be made of high density poly product. Other than that, I can just say again that this appears to be a well thought out product, that just missed the mark on one feature. UPDATE THAT CAUSED REVIEW TO CHANGE: After posting the initial review, I sent a message to the company asking them if there was a fix to the problem I had encountered. The issue was with the rigidity of the washers, what felt like the screws bottoming out on the threads was actually just the washer not wanting to expand. I got a response back the same day (from someone that had an out of office auto reply on) explaining what was likely the resolution to the problem and it was. All the screws need is a little lithium grease on the threads and the seating face between the expansion washer and the screw head. With that, the slop was able to be adjusted easily. So, to summarize, I was initially wrong that this was a four star product, it is a five star product and I have experience now with Incra's customer service and can say that was excellent too. ... show more

  • Got lazy and hazy
Just look at their recommendation to attach a wood block to this product that tells it all. Most table saws come with a mitre gauge and bar. So, you are paying for something you already have, which is the most expensive part of mitre tool. I just got lazy and thought I needed something fancy. Well, this has so many nonsensical adjustments, screws, movements, it is ridiculous. I have seen so many home built customer mitre schemes on YouTube for free if you have some scrap lumber. If not, go all out and spend $20 to get some wood and build one yourself that does everything this alleges to do. The expansion screws on the slider bar were already maxed out for tightness, so I get the same amount of wobble as my mitre gauge that came with the saw. $150 plus bucks. I am embarrassed to make this report. At 82 years old I must be losing it in that I have used tables saws for 65 years with a standard mitre gauge with free alterations. ... show more

  • Great customer service!
Very impressed with the Incra customer service. This arrived on a Friday and I was having issues with fit in my Dewalt table saw miter slot. I emailed customer service and was impressed to get a response on Saturday. Mark M. gave me some great tips about how to adjust/align the white discs and also confirmed that I could replace the black discs if I needed to (I wasn't sure if I was supposed to do that. *attaching a pic he sent showing the alignment that allows for the most expansion of the white discs. Anyway, I used it yesterday for a few simple things and was really impressed with how well this works. I have a compact table saw and don't really need the extension and haven't had a chance to use the stop. ... show more

  • Very precise, easy to set up and easy to use
Believe me, I didn't want to pull the trigger and buy this thing for THAT much money. But so glad I did. -- The craftsmanship is outstanding -- Easy to align and calibrate -- Like that you can extend the fence another 4 inches for longer material -- There is no "I wish it came with this"...It comes with everything you need I just got a new table saw and even though it had a pretty heavy duty miter gauge, this thing puts that one to shame. Read up on this one and watch some YouTube videos like I did. It is worth the money. ... show more

  • Great product! Inadequate setup instructions. See below.
I considered taking a star off of my review based on the flaws in the mechanism to tighten the miter bar into the miter track, but the rest of the engineering is just too good for that to be fair. I'm an engineer for the government. I see good and bad examples of engineering every day. This is truly a great tool. I'm actually shocked at how bad the design is for the tightening mechanism. It is a thick nylon washer that has a screw in the center that when driven in, should cause the nylon washer to expand and fill your miter track. The nylon washer is cut from the center screw hole to the outer diameter so it can expand. The problem is that the split is in the wrong place when it is shipped and nothing tells you to position it correctly. If you rotated the split outward of the miter bar so that it can expand more easily, this might work. As it ships, if you just try to tighten the screw, you will get very little expansion before you damage the way-too-small hex key. A better design would have used a much larger hex key. As it was, I drove a tiny nail in the nylon washer near the outside diameter so that the nail would make a portion of the washer expand to fill my miter slot. Then I cut off the rest of the nail and filed it down to be mostly flush. This worked, but was a dumb way to do it. Repositioning the slot in the nylon washer into the expansion area probably would have worked MUCH better than my method. However, my method did work and this did result in a tight fit that since then, has worked out amazingly well. The jaw-droppingly sloppy miter slot in my dewalt table saw, is now a precision cutting machine. Despite the initial frustration, I love this product. It has my highest recommendation. ... show more
