  • Unacceptable Quality Control... DO NOT BUY
Had this bag for 5 years and dragged it all over the world... hiked mountains in it... really kind of abused it and it lasted like a champ. Best camera bag I ever had. Finally when it became threadbare I ordered the same exact bag. At some point InCase has significantly cut corners in their manufacturing apparently to save a buck. The very first morning I had the new bag I had a canon dslr and a macbook pro in it. The anchor stitching that holds the left shoulder strap together ripped right out and the strap became useless. When I got home I compared the new bag to the old one and where the old bag had 2 separate lines of anchor stitch in this area that went all the way across the strap the new bag has a single line that is only about 1/4" or less wide... it doesn't even go all the way across the nylon strap. Both sides are this way. I was able to rig my strap to at least be able to use the bag while I reached out to InCase's customer service. It took them days to respond... they asked for photos of the defect and my receipt. I sent those over and then waited another 3-4 days before getting a response. Their response floored me... they would not honor their warranty because I had gotten the bag on sale from the regular price. I've been an InCase customer for more than 5 years... I also own the DSLR sling bag which I got at the same time as my previous DSLR Pro Pack and it too has lasted for years. Their quality is no longer what it used to be... I would rate the quality of their new products as poor to unacceptable and I will personally never buy another one of their products. They've lost a customer for live who used to recommend their bags to fellow photographers. ... show more

  • Solid bag for lots of stuff - but doesn't last.
We are getting ready for international travel, so it was important that I find a bag that can handle all of our gear. We take a lot of photos and videos, so I knew we would need space. I looked a few bags, and ended up buying this one, because it looks less like a pro-photography bag and more normal. It also claimed to be able to fit a 15" Macbook, which it actually does! (I have a mid 2012 Macbook, so it is thicker plus a hard shell case and it still fit!) I'll attach pictures of what does fit, and what does not, so you have an idea. Pros: - Fits a lot of stuff. - Fits my 15" (older) Macbook Pro. - Fits my iPad Pro with Incase Origami sleeve (with the macbook). - Everything is snug, very little movement. - Looks great. - Pads seem sturdy and cushiony. Very customizable. - Top pocket makes pulling film out easy at airports. - Very top of the pack lets you easily pull out camera if wanted. Cons: - Side pocket does not fit water bottle. - Still bulky. - Doesn't seem very secure. It would be hard to lock the zippers. - Straps aren't terribly comfortable. (May break in with age?) I chose to fit in 3 camera bodies, which meant I didn't have room for a flash. But as you can see in the pictures, there was plenty of room for other stuff! I will try to update this review after using it for a while. UPDATE: I took this bag on a weekend trip to NYC and then for a 3 week trip to Europe. It was my carry on bag for the flight since it held so much stuff. It fit under the seat in front of me, so I was happy about that, but it was hard to get anything out of it mid flight, since the front pocket is so deep. Halfway through our Europe trip the seems started to come out near the top of the strap (see photos). I also had a seem inside of the bag come loose. This tells me the bag isn't put together all that well. That was pretty disappointing to me, since I have other Incase stuff I love. I carried the bag around during the day and it was nice to have the Rainfly cover. The straps didn't hold their length and so the bag slowly crept down my back during the day, which was really annoying and eventually I think this took a toll on my back. The bag looks good, but in the end, you will have to decide between packing it to the max and short lifespan, or long lifespan and never packing it too much. I might try to contact Incase to see if they will replace it. ... show more

  • Can be small for larger folks
Overall a good product. Frustratingly, the Incase skimped out on a few critical areas that I assume saved them a few pennies per bag. This is what separate a truly great brand that paid attention to the little things versus a good value brand. My main criticisms are : 1: The shoulder straps are too short. Add six more inches to each and these will fit a larger person more comfortably. adding one total feet of nylog webbing will not "kill" the profit margins. 2: The sternum strap should be more easily moved down to the next notch. Again, it suggest that Incase target population are either skinny Millenials and/or Asians. And yes, I'm an Asian but larger. Most American higher priced brands such as Tumi or Coach have backpacks that have long shoulder straps and will fit almost anybody. I feel that Incase tested this product only on short, skinny people To be fair, I have the trendy brandy Fjallraven backpacks, a Swedish company, and their backpacks are made for small people also. Go figure. Asde from the sizing issue, everything else is pretty good. I don't know how durable the zipper and zipper pulls will be. Only time will tell. Positives are: The security of the back access combined with the top access are the two main reasons why I decided to purchase this pack. The front area 'pops" out if needed and can function as another backpack. So, one as a regular backpack and a mid size camera bag. So, I would highly recommend this bag to smaller people and a regular recommend for large people such as myself. I will keep it because I don't plan to loading it up too much with my gear. Otherwise, having the pack relatively up high on my back is not ideal. ... show more
