  • Accurate, rugged, and a great value for the money!
I bought the iGaging 6" Fractional & Decimal Inch Combination Dial Caliper as a backup to my 35+ year old plastic calipers to use for reloading ammo, woodworking, and general home repair measuring tasks. The storage case is well designed to keep it clean and prevent damage for storage and when carrying in your tool box or bag. I've actually retired the old calipers (even though they still work just fine). The iGaging calipers are my go-to tool now. Pro's: these calipers are very well designed, rugged, easy to read, very easy to operate, a good value, and they look awesome in stainless steel. The dial part of the caliper is easy to read and easy to "zero" for accurate measurements. The dial remains in place as does the slide lock; no movement or free-play to give false readings. I did use my other calipers as a benchmark for determining accuracy of these new calipers, and they were right on the money. I find it really handy to read both the fractional and decimal conversions without wasting time doing the conversions either in my head or with paper and pencil. This helps prevent "Mr. Murphy" mistakes and is a real time saver. Con's: none These calipers are perfect for all my needs and are well worth the money I spent. ... show more

  • This is a very nice, easy to read, and use device
Replaced my old plastic junky ones for these. They are well made, easy to use, and for my money, are worth it!

  • Accurate and easy to read
Works well and well made. No issues whatsoever. Good addition to my wood shop.

  • Right decent these are
Good accuracy. Also a nice 'heft' to them. they also come with a nice case. They aren't Starrets or Mitutoyu, but then they also don't have that price. Really decent for the hobbyist and garage type crafter.

  • What I expected
For what it's supposed to be, I think this caliper is absolutely fine. At well under 50 bucks, my expectations were not high, but then again I'm not building rocket parts. This caliper is for taking basic measurements in woodworking endeavors. For that I need accuracy to about 1/64th inch, nothing more. This caliper achieves that. It's also one of the few dial units that I found with fractional readings on the dial -- a real plus. It's easy to use and read, and I greatly prefer it over a digital caliper (I'm not even sure why; just do). In terms of build quality, to me it's okay. Nothing feels loose or shoddy. Looks like it'll work fine. Pretty-much exactly what I needed at a totally reasonable price. ... show more

  • Works great. Easy to use
Seems accurate as far as I can tell and is very easy to read and use. My only complaint is I wish it had labeled the 64th markers. That would have made this even better.

  • Nice fraction claliper!
My review of iGaging Dial Caliper 6" Fractional & Decimal Inch Combination Dual Scale... I have an old caliper that I've been using for years. It has a decimal dial but I wanted on that could display fractions. I'm not a fan of digital calipers. After looking at the reviews I ordered this one. It is made of metal (looks like stainless steel) It is very well made, very professional. It has a clear dial and the measurements are in fraction and decimal. I measured against my tape measure and it was dead-on accurate. I can highly recommend this caliper for those looking for a fraction measurement dial. ... show more

  • Yes, we should all convert to metric but..
Some of us old dinosaurs still think in fractions of inches and other weird units. This caliper is a great thing for us. It's made by iGaging, so the quality is first rate.
