I bought this for my 14 year old son for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised at how well constructed it is. He worked on it with his uncle and they were able to solve it together in about an hour. I’m not sure if my son would have been able to solve it on his own or not. It was fun getting to watch them work so hard to solve it. A very unique gift! ... show more

    • Fun, medium difficulty puzzle box
The puzzle/steps themselves were interesting and a little challenging (I set it down a couple of times and came back to it later). All together, it probably took me around 45 minutes to figure out. I purchased the puzzle box to hide a gift card for my 14 year old niece. (That ended up not working out as the hidden compartment is too small to fit a standard sized gift card.) She loved it, but it did take her a couple of days working on it on and off before she got it open. The box is made of very lightweight material, and some of the pieces felt kind of delicate; you definitely don't want to use a lot of force. Overall, the puzzle was entertaining to solve (I was kind of bummed when I realized I was at the end), and I would gift it again to anyone interested in escape room type puzzle boxes. ... show more

    • Great little puzzle box for D&D
I used this puzzle box for a D&D adventure I ran my players through. They had a lot of fun with it and we made it a game by adding a time limit. I created kind of a graduated scale that if they finished in X time or under, this is what it would reveal and give, and then Y time gave something else etc. This made sure there was always something to learn by finishing the puzzle, but always the pressure of time to get as much information and loot as possible. The players working together was real good too because I had several things that would change as the puzzle came together. Getting the box open granted the final piece and overall the players had a blast and they are still talking about it 8 months later. The box is well made and sturdy and is easy to figure out, it just takes a little bit of time but when you are all working together it goes faster. Overall, this is a real fun product for the price. I was excited about playing with this puzzle box and purchased for my husband’s birthday. After a delightful first 30 minutes and solving the first 2 puzzles, we then experienced several hours of frustration to finally open the box by happenstance. We watched a hint video to realize the inside piece that was the key to the last puzzle was broken. So not only was the first attempt a let down, the key selling feature of repeat fun with friends solving it anew is also gone. This was a waste. ... show more

You can not put the money inside the puzzle unless you solve it first.. so that was annoying I didn’t want to solve it before giving it to my finance, but he still enjoyed the challenge
