My husband usually wears a crew neck t-shirt under tops like this. He had to switch to a V-neck for this one because the mock turtleneck collar was too tight for his neck. My neck is much smaller than his and it felt tight on me as well. This is a beautiful shirt, but I deducted one star for the tight neckline as it makes the shirt a bit uncomfortable. The material is soft and stretchy so the shirt itself doesn't feel tight. The hunter green color is beautiful. I am able to wash and dry with my regular laundry without any special treatment. This is a very comfortable sweater, even without an undershirt underneath. The fabric's a manufactured product, but they've somehow managed to eliminate the itchiness that a lot of polyester-like materials inflict. The fit's nearly perfect. It hugs the contours without being embarrassingly tight. The sleeve cuffs go down just the right length, as does the bottom ribbing. You won't look dopey like one can in a sweater that just rides too low / goes down too far. And the neck's ideal because it's snug without feeling constrictive. There's one small thing about the neck I don't care for, and that is that it bunches up a little bit as the neck slides down the adam's apple. But it's a small price to pay, and it doesn't really make it look cheap or anything. Heck, for all I know, all mock turtleneck sweaters do the same thing. For those gents starting to show their age around the neck, this sweater's a nice way to hide that without it being obvious that you're hiding that ! You could go with a full turtleneck, but that makes "the coverup" a little more obvious :) The thickness of the fabric's also just right, and it'll work well in spring, fall, and even in the winter, especially with an undershirt underneath. Some reviewers, it seems, deem the fabric thin, and I read one that said it's snaggy and catches on stuff, but that's not been my experience AT ALL. The only "issue" I've found with this sweater is the inconsistent care instructions. See my photo with the contradictory directions circled. One says to hang dry it, the other says tumble dry in low heat. I'm a sweater hound, so I know there's never any harm in just laying something out flat on a clean towel after washing to let it air dry over a day or two, so that's what I'll do with this. I'd be leery of hanging it to dry it for fear it might elongate and look funny when worn. And who knows what tumble drying a sweater will do -- depends on the fabric. So the manufacturer should devote more attention to the care label. Despite that, this is a very nice sweater, so I'm not deducting any stars just because they don't have their paperwork in order. Nevertheless, in view of the instruction contradiction, I'd recommend laying it out flat to dry it, just in case. Besides, if you wear an undershirt underneath it, you shouldn't have to wash it very often anyway. ... show more

I absolutely love this sweater! For reference I'm 6'5" tall, 290lbs and the XXL fits perfectly on me. It's a bit stretchy but not too much and it's very soft.
