I was surprised by just how sharp the blades were, and it seemed dangerous to carry them without covering the blade. I ordered these based on measurements- I usually wear a 1/2 size and my feet are wider than standard size, but not really as wide as most wide width shoes. Being able to customize the fit so much with 1/2 sizes and widths was great- the sizing chart was spot on and my skates fit better than any pair of shoes I have ever owned. I bought these for a beginner figure skating class (I'm 31) and they have been perfect for my classes.
