Last year our little winch broke straight out of the package (came with the cable and winter pool cover). This appears to be sturdy enough to last a winter or two but I don't know that any brand/version make these to last. This is why I didn't give it 5-stars. Appears to be made of cheap metal that doesn't seem like it will hold up in the midwest winters. Hoping this is not a single use product but we will see. Simple to use, so far has done what it is supposed to do and held up the last few weeks. Will update next spring once the cover is removed. ... show more

I needed to replace a broken winch from last year. I was expecting something a bit sturdier for the cost. This was not the case. Hopefully it lasts until I need to replace my pool cover.

This was purchased as a replacement for the one that came with my winter cover that broke immediately. Not “heavy duty “ but will get the job done. I have a 21 ft above ground pool for reference.

I bought 2 of these as I have a pool cover and a leaf net to hold down. They are the usual ones that come with all the covers I've ever bought. They do the job, but it woulds be nice if they were more durable. I'm trying these out as I had to replace the ones I had (came with covers, not bought through this seller) because the little spring that holds tension on the cable breaks. I'm hoping for the best with the new ones. ... show more

works as advertised. the line thru time and weights slacks loose. This gadget took up slack and tighten the line as it should be. Perfect!
