I checked my plugs and have +12V at each WITH standalone hid harness. These ballasts failed within a month of install. I bought spare capacitors and it did not help either. KENSUN used to be the go to brand for reliable HiDs but they left Amazon. I'm going to try my hand with LED H1 bulbs now

For the price these ballasts are amazing, super easy to plug in and great quality feel of the body and wires. Canbus/capacitor modules built in feel a little cheap but they work as intended so far no issues on my truck with errors and bo flickering. I bought two sets of these to run high and low beam my only complaint so far are pretty minor, the supplied double sided tape is junk, the plug leads are short with the inline modules to easily mount out of the way, lastly the second set I have on the high beam is a lot slower to power up but that may just be how my vehicles electrical system is wanting to function. Bought this for my 2022 Ram 1500, So far had them for 2moth and they work great they pretty bright compared to stock no lights on dash and no flickering. Only reason I won’t give them a 5star is because I had to wait for about 2weeks to get them deliver to me once they arrive I go to install them to then find out that I had to buy a jumper harness to make them work with the h11 bulbs that I got refer to buy from them as they don’t sell the ballast with bulbs. ((FYI they don’t let you know that you need the harness in the Description to make it work also a reminder they sell the bulbs separately)) so that made it to were I had to wait extra time for the harness to be deliver I will update review with part# for the harness once I get the part#, other than that I’m happy with the purchase. ... show more

I hate the RAM canbus system. I have a 2017 RAM 3500 DRW HO. I have two sets of 35w HID ballasts sitting in a tool drawer at home but couldn't use them because as soon as you start the truck, it shuts both headlights off and gives me a warning message on the dash. All of that being said, it was cheaper do buy a new set of 55w ballasts with integrated CANBUS decoders than it was to buy a set of HID decoders. These ballasts had great reviews, had CANBUS decoders, were 55W and arrived fairly quickly. I have been using them for about 1 week with approximately 4 hrs on them and they still start and operate fine. They make no sound when charging up and reach max brightness after about 8-10 seconds. The ballasts says max brightness at 3 seconds, but I find that they still grow in intensity up until about the 10 second range (really who cares about a few more seconds) I will update this post if they take a turn toward the negative. Update: I have been using em for about 2 months now. They operate fine and I dont have any error messages, flickering, or light fade. I have one ballast under the fender and one taped to the fuse block. The one on the fuse block gets HOT. It hasn't failed but I am a little concerned by how hot it gets. second Update: Been going on 4 months now and have had no issues. Have the truck switch set to "Auto On" and they don't have any problems cycling on or off. No canbus messages on dash and light the road very well at night. ... show more

I have a MK5 VW Jetta with an aftermarket headlight and wanted to install some HID's in it. I purchased a 55W HID kit that claims to the canbus but unfortunately they flicker and throw off codes.
