The liner doesn’t close up that well and for indoor use it looks ragged after a month of lots of shooting. Looking into getting replacement covers as w traditional bows this will last a very very long time but the outside bag will look awful and can probably be replaced at least 3 times b4 the inside is shot out. It stops a compound bow no problem. I’ve heard a lot of these have over penetration problems if using crossbows etc that have the max 425 fps or anywhere close, on their 500 fps plus targets. I’ve shot this one w 310fps compound wo issues Compared to a foam target arrows are usually MUCH easier to get out but as the bag is shot more strings etc catch on the field tips and can make it harder to get some arrows out. The easiest target to deal w is a box stuffed w old clothes & blankets ideally as u can just put it into another larger box as the cardboard wears out or dump the contents into a box the same size. Ofc u can use cardboard plastic & paper bags and all kinds of foam paper & plastic garbage from packages etc. Fabric seems to last the longest & doesn’t the best job stopping arrows so u make want to use that in the areas that get shot the most. Anyways, these homemade targets are great bc arrows come out so easily, plus u can make a large one that would cost a few hundred or more for free. Just do t Still use foams & these bone bags, just like variety. Anyways the bag has a nice smack sound when u hit it btw ... show more

    • Good for a pistol crossbow

I purchased this to use with my Bear X Desire XL mini-crossbow. I was looking for something to stop the bolts and for use indoors. This target bag is awesome and does the job! Great value for an archery target bag. I even tried it with my regular bow and it works fine but I mainly use it for the min-crossbow. 60lb draw weight launching a bolts at approximately 200 fps and this bag stops them cold. They do sink in up to the fletching at short range but the bag does its job. Large target area, durable, it has taken well over 100 shots, and still going strong. Highly recommend it for use with min or pistol style crossbows. ... show more

Ordered for a 2-week hunting trip, product came in 4-days late and we had already left for vacation. I had to call a neighbor to pick up package to keep it from getting stolen while out on a 2-week trip. The product is great and light weight, but durable. The bag needs a stand, when shooting, keeps falling over. Don't need product now already have large hanging target on wheels in the yard but will keep for next year's trip. ... show more

While I have decades of experience with firearms and airguns I had no experience with things that launched arrows. I needed a proper backstop to shoot my recently purchased umarex air javelin co2 arrow air rifle. It shoots a 100 grain shaft with a 50 grain field tip at around 300 fps. I ordered the smallest and cheapest of these targets available which was the H20. The ad said the measurements were 20x20x10. But my measurements showed 20x22x11 so slightly larger and I was very happy with that. The built in handle makes it easy to move around and this H20 is very light. I didn't weigh it but it can't weigh more than 15 pounds. Honestly it was so light I was concerned about it's ability to stop these arrows. I went out in my garage and set this up about 10 yards away. In one of the pictures you can see the arrows only penetrate about half way in. Also you will see in one of the pictures where I shot about 45 shots into a small area that the stuffing actually begins to self seal the holes in time. So whatever these bags have inside them is a really effective product cause it just works. Great quality product, best 35 bucks I ever spent and will likely last me a long time. ... show more

After using straw bales for years I decided to buy a bag target. The Hurricane is the size I was looking for, about 30" x 30". Its light enough that I can carry it out to the yard and set it up, and its large and stable so it can stand alone. I set mine backed up to a wire fence just in case it tips, not touching or leaning on it, but so far it hasn't budged a bit. Right now I'm shooting a 25 - 30 lb. long bow that's really made for light target practice, and an 80 lb. pistol cross bow. At 12 - 15 yards, the arrows penetrate about 4 - 5 inches and the bolts go it about 3 - 4 inches. They are very easy to remove (tip: make sure your arrow tips are the same diameter as the arrow shaft or they will be harder to pull out and they will fray the bag more at the edges of the hole. I had to replace my tips that were slightly larger). The holes close up pretty well after shooting too. I can see this lasting for years, especially if you store it indoors when you aren't using it. I just bought a 40 lb. re-curve take down bow, but haven't used it yet, but I expect it will perform great. ... show more

    • Big, sturdy and cheap

I bought the biggest size because, well, I need a big target and I'm cheap... The bag is large and tough (and heavy) with a sturdy carrying handle. It's rigid enough that it stands up straight and doesn't flop around, although you may need something to prop it up with if you don't have a backstop to lean it on. I have been using it with a 30# recurve for about a month and have had no problems getting the arrows to stick and there is absolutely no chance for a pass-through so it would take much higher draw weights. The arrows are fairly easy to remove. Having said that, my son has tried to use it with an 18# recurve and the arrows just bounce off, so it's not suitable for kids or other people using low draw weights. Note that the target I received is white (not neon green) with neon green and black printing. The printing is also different, with one side having a 6" or 8" circle in the center and smaller circles in the four quarters with a large black cross superimposed on the center ring. I actually like this better because I find the cross easier to use as an aiming point. The opposite side has the deer torso with the internal organ locations printed on it similar to the images in the description. Overall, it seems like a bargain and I'm very happy with it. ... show more
