These are actually (for me, anyhow) a perfect mix of stretchiness and softness — just like regular socks, but they don’t dent my puffy ankles/legs. Yet they stay in place!! I have other ‘diabetic’ socks, but while they are made of a soft and comfy material, they have a thin line of elastic that still dents my leg somewhat. If you want a nice, comfortable, thin sock that is truly NON-BINDING, this is the perfect product for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHY I LIKE THEM: 1. The sock is BREATHABLE BAMBOO. 2. It fits well and it thin so I CAN WEAR MY NORMAL SHOES without any binding or wadding. 3. The cuffs DO NOT BIND THE LEG or interfere with circulation. 4. They come in a VARIETY OF PRETTY COLORS as well as black and white. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT I DO NOT KNOW YET: I don't know how durable they will be in the long term. I don't know all the properties of bamboo and I don't know if these socks will last. So far, they have washed well, and didn't fall apart, but the knit is loose and appears to be sort of fragile. THEY SHRUNK SIGNIFICANTLY IN A NORMAL WASH AND MACHINE DRY, BUT THEY ARE SO STRETCHY THAT THEY STILL FIT COMFORTABLY. The shrinkage has been irrelevant so far. I have big feet and even after major shrinkage, they fit with no problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT I DO NOT LIKE: 1. They seem a little bit fragile, but so far, they haven't worn out after machine wash and dry. The knit is a little bit loose and I'm not sure what that means because I've never used this kind of fabric before. 2. One of the socks looks like it might be developing a small hole at the ankle. I bought at least 4 packages with four pairs each, so out of 16 socks, only one is defective. So it might just be a freak. I like these socks because they tic all the boxes that were important to me - thin, breathable, non-binding. I have a few reservations about the quality, but I tried high-end socks - some of which were up four times the price of my Hugh Ugolis. These were not expensive and can easily be replaced without breaking the bank. I was willing to pay top dollar for high-end socks, but I honestly liked these better. I bought these as a gift for an elderly relative. I had previously owned them for when my ankle was swollen after an injury. They worked very well for both of us. Also, they are great as sleep socks.

    • ODDLY DAMP EVEN WHEN FULLY DRY-- and Now Not Staying Up and Have Gotten Shorter

I suddenly had puffiness in my feet and ankles, I thought due to wearing too-tight cotton crew socks, and I had gained 15 lbs. Looked online for looser fitting socks, and found these. I liked them enough that I bought more. The puffiness was not completely cured, but it seemed to help. I air-dried the first purchase one time, but put one of the pairs in the dryer, just to see how bad they would shrink, and if they'd be unwearable. They did shrink, but stretched back fine, and were wearable. The air-dried socks did not dry for days. And the ones from the dryer still had a damp feel, until I had them on for a while. From then on I dried them all in the dryer, and even put them in for an extra 20 minutes after the first big load had been in for an hour. Even then, they felt damp enough that I put them to air dry some more. It must be the bamboo fibers. It's not unpleasant, just strange to go to put on a fresh pair of socks and have them not feel completely dry. I have to have the doctor check out my ankles, I don't know what's up with them yet. But at least the socks are not digging into me as bad as the other socks. ************************************************************************************************************** Aug. 19, 2022-- I am voting these down a star, as I have worn and laundered and dried them several times since purchase. They still never are dry. I can take them out of my sock drawer a week after washing and they still feel clammy. Once you put them on and they pick up some body heat, they don't feel bad. But they are getting increasingly short and not staying up as I walk. I am a little sorry I bought them, as they are nearly as constricting as my cotton crew socks are, which had led me to buy them for my puffy ankles and feet. I love these stretchy socks made primarily from bamboo, they are soft and comfortable and don’t make my feet sweat! They look like they shrink a bit when washed, but stretch back when worn. Recommended!
