With the lifting base, the 360 floor laser can raise from the surface to go over and travel past uneven surfaces or obstructions between 1" and 3.15" height. Make sure you start with this price range. Every household should have a laser leveler. This is a must. Choosing one can be a challenge as prices average around $200. This is my first experience purchasing a laser leveler and I started out with thinking of a simple low cost product. Boy, was I wrong. Although it may seem like a large investment to spend $200 for a laser leveler but spending any less is a waste of time. My first purchase was the Skil green laser leveler. It sounded cool, especially with the measure marks within the device. For $100, I thought it would serve me well as I may not need it much. Ha! Skil advertised well but the product did not work past a few feet without distorting the laser. Horrible experience. Then I said, let's see why Amazon is talking about Huepar so much. I've been getting funny products recently from Amazon. I was nearly fed up with it but I took the chance, as always lol, especially with Amazon and went with their highly recommended product. They are on point with this one. I cannot blame Amazon for my recent funny experiences as they accommodate the differences extremely well. Now, on to the review! There are a few design flaws. You cannot remove the battery with the tripod attachment on. This is a huge section as we may use it all day and when the battery dies, we need to start the measurements over. Ideally, you want to mark the points after measuring so you know where to align if change where to happen but it would have been cool to look at the device like a camcorder. Typically the batter is outside where you can easily detach. This could be an opinion for most but for me having to completely start over while changing the battery is a design flaw. I'm sure you can try to find a good fitting to adjust how slim the tripod attaches, and I did but it just did not work. There are gaps with the laser line. This can be easily ignored as many products suffer this limitation due to how the glass case is over or housing the laser. This is normal but with this mind, it would have been nice to see the charger port on the other side. The gaps or shadows are small and do not hinder your work. At the same time, simply adjust the laser's position to get results. The batteries are camera size which is extremely important. This is a plus as if I needed to purchase more batteries I could use what I own already. The laser is strong and provides excellent coverage. Love the remote and the attachments but the magnetic holster would have been nice if you can attach it to a tripod. The minimal movements needed are important when fine tuning measurements. With all the design flaws, just an opinion, the performance outweighs it a ton. I am extremely impressed. The case makes a huge difference and with the quality control of its current design and functions, I am sold. Not looking to spend $400 on the other vendor products but at the same time, I can see that they thought about the same items in laser line shadow and battery access. If I were to recommend a product to people like myself, a newbie in the world of lasers, buy this one or other designs of Huperar. I selected this model based on how I wanted to measure. The idea of the horizontal laser on the bottom is a plus to me. 5 stars!!! After further review, the plastic is not the best. For this model having the laser so close to the ground is a great feature. The design and choice of plastic is not good for tripods. The threading will break off from the plastic under normal use. I recommend getting another clamp to hold it to the tripod. With the faults I could say this is 4 stars but I am sure the choice to reinforce the threading while keeping a low profile is tough. Ideally a better choice of plastic could provide stability as I do not recommend a tripod without an additional clamp. The media could not be loaded. Let me start this review of the Huepar 503CG by stating that I have been using laser levels of all types now for 25 years. They are a mandatory tool in my trade of metal framing/ and suspended grid ceilings. That being said, I know my lasers! I know what works, and what doesn't work well in the practical sense on a jobsite. I've used Spectra Physics, Porter Cable, DeWalt, Hilti, PLS, and Bosch lasers just to name a few for reference. I've been wanting to upgrade from my current laser (I have a PLS red line laser, a Bosch red line/dot laser, and a way too big Hilti "spinner" rotating green laser) ever since guys at work have shown up with the latest and greatest Dewalt and Hilti lasers. The Dewalt is $500 and the Hilti is around $800, so I decided to see what alternatives Amazon had to offer. After digging through tons of decent looking lasers and reviews, I noticed that Huepar was often mentioned as a good laser on Amazon. So at that point, I dug through all the various versions and models of Huepar lasers that I could find, and narrowed my choices down to a select few similar models. I decided to go with this model because it aligned with most of my prerequisites needed in a good professional grade laser. I need the laser to be bright enough to see in a well lit room. It needs 2 batteries. A charger. Battery life stated as 6 hrs per battery. Also excellent ratings, and reviews. And by most indications by reviewers, the Huepar lasers actually compared decently alongside the much higher priced lasers. So finally, after much debate and hesitation I decided to go ahead and buy the Huepar. At the time of this review, I was able to test the laser out in the workplace for just 3 days, and I will say- that I COULDN'T BE MORE IMPRESSED!! This laser is every bit as well made as the Hilti, and Dewalt versions of this laser. I will HIGHLY recommend this laser to anyone questioning whether they can use it on a professional level. I was a bit worried that it would be cheaply made, but it is all around a very nice quality. The function buttons are "clicky" and solid. The side pendulum lock/power switch is very smooth, but solidly made and easily manipulated with one hand. The plastic body casing is of an obviously high quality sturdy plastic composite material. And the reinforced rubber bump guards are also very practical and impressive. The laser windows are a very nice thick and clear quality. And the casings around the lasers are a nice, very sturdy metal. Not just a thin metal or plastic for aesthetics. Also of note, is the quality, accuracy, and visibility of the green laser. Every bit as good as the Hilti! The largest room I've used it in so far was approximately 65ft x 45ft and it was right on the money with the other lasers. I was fairly worried that the batteries wouldn't live up to the stated runtime of 6 hours, but I was actually impressed to find that I was able to make it through an 8 hour work day on just one battery for the 3 days I've used it. Also, i was quite impressed with the quality and versatility of design of the included mount clip bracket. Unfortunately though, i found that when I went to use it to mount to the suspended ceiling molding, it bottoms out before you can adjust the horizontal laser down where it needs to be in order to get a laser line across the room. (I had already anticipated the need to separately purchase a ceiling mount though, so I just ordered a great Bosch one here on Amazon for 20 bucks that will get here tomorrow so not a big deal!) Also, even the included carrying case is great. Just an added bonus to this outstandingly great laser!! I will end this review by saying, Dont waste your hard earned money on a high priced laser. Took me a few minutes to figure out the bells and whistles versus my Home Depot cheap Bosch laser. The green is much easier to see, crisper for better accuracy in my opinion. The rechargeable batteries are a nice addition too. So far I’m a big fan of this kit.
