This is different! The backing is clear vinyl. It's hard to tell the difference between this and HTV by looking at it. It cuts like butter and weeds like a dream. It transfers beautifully! The only downside (besides constantly reminding yourself that it's NOT HTV especially when loading!), is that it is very flimsy compared to the paper-backed stuff you're used to.     • Nice Chrome Vinyl but has a couple things...

Overall, I like this vinyl quite a bit. Its the exact chrome I wanted, it cuts very easily. I do use my silhouette at the blade set at 2, force of 6 and go over it twice and it cuts perfectly. It also weeds super smooth and even with sharp, small cuts, I only had a couple of times it ripped or pulled off wrong in one small spot. So overall, really nice! However... The vinyl is covered in a thin film of plastic that you have to remember to pull off before cutting. I like that it protects the vinyl from getting scratched up when you are storing it or pulling it in and out, which is nice, BUT, I didnt realize it was there until starting to cut it the first time and it just completely started pulling off and I thought it was the vinyl itself. So please be aware there is a very, very thin film of plastic covering it. Im just hoping I dont forget this and mess up more in the future if its a while before I use it again. Also, the bubbles under it after you place it are insane. The best way to place it that ive found, is to do it side to side very slowly, and use a vinyl scraper to gently push it down AS YOU LAY IT. If you just lay it down and rub, you will never get all the bubbles out and have to pull things up and redo them. That is annoying as hell. But, if you can get the swing of it, its worth it because of the other positives and the price. But I cant give it 5 stars just because of the bubbling. ... show more

We've cut lots of vinyl, not this type. One needs to insure the cutters type is correct and the depth of cut set accordingly. This product works great when set up correctly (super thin) and looks amazing once applied. Good value for the quantity of the roll and the supplier offers assistance if requested. This vinyl cuts really easily on my Cameo 4. The adhesive kind of seeps out from the border edges on the roll, as well as the cut edges from the machine. I cut banners a lot. Don't fail to weed your cuts immediately. If you wait, even overnight, the fresh cuts rip after weeding when you pull off the excess due to seeping adhesive. This stuff gummed up my rollers so much that I keep a bottle of isopropyl alcohol to clean them. ... show more
