Altho did not deter from my specific use of the product, arrived in package broken in half. that is the only reason for less than five stars. That said, salt is difficult to keep in a solid block without unnecessary moisture or added chemicals. This was used for standing next to a rain gutter drain where bufo/cane toads gather in early evening when I take my dogs out. After several rainy nights, it is still largely undissolved, leaving a long period of continued use. Boxed grain salt dissolves into the ground in one hour of rain, making it useless for my purposes. I cannot attest to its flavor or preference for any horses. But there are fewer poisonous toads to scatter away before letting the dogs out to pee. ... show more
