I bought this red/NIR light panel to treat arthritis in my left knee caused by a severe injury. Then, a relative began using it to thicken hair. I must say, it's worked very well in both instances. The knee pain I was suffering has greatly diminished, as has the lack of flexibility. The stiffness in back of my knee has also improved. I've been able to reduce the pain relievers I take, which is great. My relative, whose hair was thinning in one spot, has seen a lot of new growth, which is also great and the texture is even better. I'm going to start using it as part of a program to keep my own hair thick and healthy. This panel is very well built and sturdy, and it's so easy to use. Just plug it in and flip a switch or two. The company recommends placing the device about six inches away from the area you're treating. Flip both switches on, the red and the NIR. If you're treating a superficial area, like the skin on your face, let the light shine on your face (with eyes closed or wearing the goggles that come with the panel) for 3-5 minutes. No more. If you're treating a deeper area, like I treat my knees, let the light shine on that area for up to 10 minutes. You should start at the lower end and work up. And don't make the mistake of thinking more is better. It definitely isn't where red/NIR light is concerned. If you overdo, you could end up with the opposite of what you want. The key to success with red/NIR light therapy is proper dosing plus consistency. We can take a multi-vitamin irregularly and still maintain our health, but if you want to see results from red/NIR light therapy, you must use the panel every day. Consistency is a must, and give it 90 days to see results. I don't feel much warmth from this panel, but that's okay. That's normal. After I use it on my knees, however, I do feel a tingling in my knees (also normal) that lets me know it's working. I don't particularly like tingly feelings - actually I hate them - but it doesn't last long. This panel comes with the hardware to hang it on your bedroom or bathroom door if you choose to do so. I didn't do that because I have a brand new house with beautiful doors, so I've gone with another option (a mask) for treating my face. If you do want to use this for your face, I'm sure it would work wonderfully, however. I recommend anyone who's serious about red/NIR light therapy, also buy the book THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO RED LIGHT THERAPY by Ari Whitten. That book will tell you more than you probably need to know, and you can buy it right here, on Amazon. You can ever treat the heart and the brain with red/NIR light therapy. All-in-all, there isn't much red/NIR light therapy can't do. I really enjoy my red/NIR light panel, and I've derived tremendous benefits from it. I think you can, too. I hope so. ... show more

Listen, I know it sounds crazy but red light therapy actually works. Get this light, use it for 2 or 3 days and you will notice a difference. My athletes love, my hamstrings love it after a long day gardening, and my husband loves it after standing on a concrete floor all day. I bought this as my very first red light panel just to see if it would really help me before spending more on the panels with more features and power. I've used my handheld tendlite for years now to heal wounds on my family, including my dogs, so I know the healing power there, but simply wasn't sure if the therapy was really good for more than quick wound healing. I was surprised right away how well built this little panel is and how much light it throws out. It didn't take more than a couple of 10 minute sessions to begin seeing the differences the therapy made. My arthritic toes thanked me first. Then my skin thanked me. Later my vision sharpened a bit after daily use. For such a small investment of time and money the results were better than expected. I've since invested in a few more Hooga Pro panels, but I still use this HG300 every day. If you want to try a photobiomodulation (aka red light therapy) panel, you can't go wrong with this one for the price. The only caveat may be that, for its size, it's a little heavier than you might think. The mounting hardware is great, but a stand would be better. Unfortunately, you have to upgrade to the Pro series to get the stand, which by the way is really good. ... show more

So, I live a semi-stressful life and although I bought the hooga to improve my skin health, I now look forward to sitting in front of it every day. Hooga red light machines are the best value for your buck and they deliver red and infrared light in the two best healing spectrums. Their small handheld device saved my foot, helping me heal both sesamoids which I broke playing too much cricket on hard surfaces. I have since upgraded to the HG300 which I use everyday on my head (to grow and thicken hair) , body, feet and even my balls which is proven on men to raise testosterone naturally. Alex Fergus rated the Hooga 300 the best overall value and I agree with this. The features are exactly what I need without the extra modular plug, built in stand or timer. My acupuncturist loved mine so much she asked me for mine so I bought another one. My brother has now bought an even bigger one because the results I'm getting are contagious. Everyone I have shared this tech with is loving the ease of use, the intensity of the light and physical results of a proven scientific healing technology.
