  • Calcium Alginate Dressing Pads is composed of manuka honey and calcium alginate non-woven fabric. Manuka honey is a medical-grade honey derived from the pollen and nectar of the Leptospermum species of plant in New Zealand and Australia.
  • Manuka Honey Calcium Alginate Dressing Pads is a novel honey based dressing. The dressing contains 95% Active Leptospermum Honey and can be used to cover a shallow wound or fill a deep wound, while providing a moist environment conducive to wound healing.
  • As wound fluid enters the dressing, the honey is released while the dressing absorbs and forms a gel. Multiple mechanisms of action include reducing edema, lowering wound pH and debriding slough and eschar.
  • Calcium Alginate Dressings Pads are indicated for the management of moderately-to-highly exuding wounds such as: Pressure ulcers, Leg ulcers, Non-infected diabetic foot ulcer, Skin abrasions, Post-operative wound, Lacerations and abrasion.
  • Can be safely worn for several days, depending on wound condition and exudate levels. Each dressing is individually wrapped. Latex free. The whole dressing Pads size: 2'' x 2''.

My first review got rejected. Here goes. Medi Honey, in general, has a good reputation. It seems to be the "go to" for a lot of what is happening concerning venous and diabetic ulcers these days. Make sure you read the instructions fully. There is a side that has a thin plastic covering on it that you might miss. The honey on the gauze is sticky enough to make it a little hard to get the plastic sheet off. ... show more
