I was quite impressed when I first used these steak knives. I was used to serrated edges torturing and shredding the meat, but these knives actually SLICE through a thick steak. I bought a much more expensive set of very sharp plain edge steak knives but find myself using these instead. And, I use them for more jobs than just cutting meat. They excellent at slicing tomatoes. The lightweight black handle and blade look very good on a place setting. They seem to be of good quality and time will tell how well the edge is maintained. Excellent value for the cost! Even though they say “wash by hand” on the individual paper sleeves they come in, they appear to doing fine when washed in the dishwasher. They cut well, and although not as thick as ‘restaurant knives’ they’re working fine.

As I stated below, the knives were not as sharp as I had hoped for, but they are well constructed, sturdy and clean well. I will continue to use them daily. ----- I bought these because they looked like and were described as great steak knives. Well, good luck. I rarely write reviews and am mostly satisfied with what I buy, but these knives do a terrible job of slicing cooked chicken, making it more like a rip and pull task. Not much better with meat. I even had trouble making a clean cut in a baked potato. They were not expensive, so no biggie, but certainly are not good cutting knives.
