I usually wear more conservative-looking shoes but thought I'd try these to wear on the more casual work days. I've got compliments on them a few times already. They go well with jeans. I'm not a big fan of the "orange patch" at the back. I think that makes it look a bit too childish or garish for my tastes, but others may like that, especially the younger crowd. There is good cushioning and it feels like memory foam, though weirdly, I find my feet scraping the ground a lot more. On some surfaces, especially non-carpeted indoor floors, this causes the shoes to almost get "stuck on the floor" while walking and I momentarily lose my step. Maybe this is peculiar to the way I walk and/or the flat rubbery sole, but I need to take "higher" steps with this shoe than my other pairs. ... show more

These shoes look and feel like leather, but they are actually synthetic material. They remind me of the "Naugahyde" but are actually much softer and , as they claim to be, breathable. The breathability comes, at least in part, from many perforations throughout the upper part of the shoe (see close up photo). As the photos show, these are modern looking shoes that look businesslike enough for the office, but also are built for some serious walking if you choose to do so. I put the size 10 1/2 (my usual size) on and they were a bit snug at first, however I found that they seemed to loosen up a bit as I worked in the yard, mowing and edging and when I was done, these shoes were a bit dirty. I cleaned them up a little and took some pictures, and I am pretty happy with them. I tried to do a shot of how much you can "flex" the sole, and you can see it is on the firm side. When I was stepping around on rocks, these feel more comfortable than the softer, thinner soles on my Crocs, as far as not feeling the pebbles you might step on. As the photos show, these are solidly constructed with straight seams and no loose ends. If you have wider feet, you might want to order a half size up, but ordering my usual size has worked out for me and I can highly recommend these Hobibear casual walking shoes based on my positive experience with them. ... show more

I just wore these all day for the first time and they were super comfortable for hours and didn't cause any break-in discomfort. They provided padding and support while moving furniture in multiple locations. The sole is very thick - I am almost an inch taller when wearing them - and it feels like there's some memory foam inside on top of soft rubber. The shoes weigh almost nothing so they may not survive repeated rough-trail hiking, but are perfect for taking walks, running errands, or standing for long periods indoors or on pavement.
