  • Just replace the post instead
Color: Gray
This product is at best is a temporary fix. I can't believe they pictured it being placed next to a supporting fence post. There will always be concrete next to support posts, making it impossible to use this tool. I suppose it could work in other areas. A bag of concrete and a new fence post are cheaper than this. Call a handyman instead. 2 stars because it's heavy duty and may work for shorter fences in areas without support posts. It did not work for me. ... show more

  • Good quality, price point makes me timid, but as an emergency fix, might be worth it.
Two of these post repair stakes for $56 (and that's with a 25% discount) makes them nearly $30 each. I think that's a bit much for what they are, but if a quick fix to a sagging post is worth $30 to you, these will do the job. They won't be a permanent solution to your problem, but they can likely buy you an entire season to get yourself ready to fix the posts or fence that's broken. For that, they may be worth having around as an emergency repair item... that gate post finally snaps, for $30, you can get it back up and working in ten minutes. Need to keep the dogs in after that corner post rotted? $30, and you are good, until you can get some replacement pieces and time. The good news on these are they are sturdy, so... I have no doubt I can keep my emergency fix around for years, until I need it, and the one I put in the ground (to test and try) will likely work for five or more years, so once you fix your post, you can remove this, and set it aside for another emergency. Super simple to install... just straightened my post (I tried it on a gate post that was sagging... lifted the gate a bit with a jack, then slide this right alongside vertically) and slide this into the ground. It's got a decent "tooth" to it, to hold in even my sandy soil. Nice amount of metal at the top, let me secure it plenty well in the post. Nice, secure, solid. This won't solve your sagging gates and broken post problems forever. It's not a replacement for doing the job right, and replacing the post(s). But it's a good, quick fix that might be well worth having on hand, if you have fences or posts getting old, sagging, etc.. For $30 each, it's good insurance at least, if that post finally gives way on a windy Sunday, or rainy weekday night, and you need a 5 minute repair to get you through for a while. They work, their sturdy, they hold nicely. They won't solve your engineering problems by themselves, but in a pinch... they'll save your day. ... show more

  • Great alternative to digging post holes!
These are very heavy duty solid stakes! I much prefer this 1 pc design, vs ones I've seen that are 2 pcs screwed together. I think these will hold up much better, long term. They are definitely on the high end for price though! I am using these instead of digging post holes, for a new fence. I haven't installed them yet, but I am concerned about how straight they're going to go in. At 16", it will be very easy for them to start getting sideways. I will update once I've installed them. ... show more

  • They work!
Our 20-year-old wooden picket fence has been battered by blizzards and snowplows. I really can't believe it hasn't fallen over at this point. We had some new posts put in a few years ago, but they haven't done much to alleviate the problem. My big dream is to put the posts on underground springs so they pop back after 8 feet of snow are piled against them. That doesn't seem like it's going to happen any time soon, so I thought I'd try these. We got the package with two supports. The packaging was terrible with everything floating around separately in a big box. I tried the first support out on my least terrible post. We've had a lot of rain here so I was able to push it into the ground pretty easily. The only little bit of trouble I had was getting it lined up close enough to the post so it would fully support it. This is a problem that I imagine could be helped by using the included wood screws. I used the second on one of my most leaning fence. The whole fence section is about 12 feet long. I put the support at the post at one of the ends. It made a huge difference. I really want to get more of these because they are working great. I'm interested to see how they hold up against the snow plows. I'll update if anything notable happens this winter. ... show more

  • Very Heavy Duty
We had someone hit our fence but amazingly the post is still in the ground and OK but just extremely loose. This did the trick and the post is back to pre accident condition. It does take some work to get it in the ground but nice to not have to concrete and replace the post.

  • Very sturdy and very heavy (as they should be)
I got these posts after working on a fence that has fairly bad sections. These are very heavy duty and much larger and heavier than I anticipated. That was a big plus since they are made to shore up fence posts. These would work on most any post of any size. There are screw holes that hold the upper section to the post so you can attach it most any size post. You place the upper section against the post with the pointy end down. You then drive the pointy end down using a heavy hammer on the "landing" portion of the support. Once you get it down simply screw the upper section to the post itself. Be sure you are driving the support in such a way that when you screw it to the post it will be plumb. Otherwise you'll have to dig it out and I can't imagine how that would work. You also have to have enough open ground away from the post where the pointy end will go. Sometimes the concrete is too wide and the pointy end won't reach the dirt. If this happens you can put it on one of the other sides. ... show more

  • Biggest Fence Post Repair Stakes I've Found
I've used and reviewed four different brands and concepts of fence post repair stakes. These HNEDSEN 2 Pcs Heavy Duty Steel Fence Post Repair Stakes are the best. They are the longest, giving greater contact area with the post. The construction from U-channel is superb...great welding and machining as well. Good surface finish. I like the offset that allows using this stake on posts that are set in concrete (depending on how large diameter the pour was). They come with all the hardware required for mounting including drill bit and driver for the hex head screws. I'm very happy with this product. ... show more

  • Repairing storm damage
A recent series of thunderstorms passing through our region split and brought down a major limb of our neighbor’s tree. It came to land and rest on our wooden backyard fence. There was no major damage to our fence, but the weight of the limb falling loosened and displaced one fence post. The post was leaning inward by more than a foot. Rather than trying to brace the post and anchor it with concrete, I thought to try these repair stakes. In under thirty minutes, I had propped up the fence section with a 2x4, driven the stake to depth, and secured the stake to the fence with the supplied HD hex head screws. Done! The stakes came as a pair. I only needed one to set things straight. The other will stay in the garage awaiting the next major storm! ... show more

  • Very sturdy, not too bad to install.
I have a heavy gate that was pulling the post over, causing the gate to not close properly. This solution seems to work for now and was easy enough to use. The stakes are as pictured and came with the hardware displayed, though they were loose in the box. They install easy enough, though depending on how much concrete is around your pole, that install may become more difficult. Once in the ground though, you just screw it into the pole and all set! Of course, a more permanent repair would be better, but this certainly works for the short-term. In my case, that heavy gate is always going to be applying pressure and pulling that post over, so I'll need to support the weight of that gate better eventually. For now, though, gate opens and closes and latches just fine. ... show more

  • My fence is no longer a death trap
My 7’ tall wooden fence had been leaning for a while, so much so that I thought someone (or one of my digs!) was going to get hurt if they happened to be standing next to it when a big gust of wind hit. After researching my options, I used these stakes to fix it. I am happy to report that no one will be dying in my property! I especially like the way they jut out at the bottom instead of being driven straight down. My posts are set in concrete, so I can’t use the straight stakes because they’d hit the concrete before they were driven all the way into the ground. These have a bend in them and miss the concrete supports underground. My fence is upright and super stable now! ... show more

  • What a Great and Useful Product!
These are for stabilizing a weak part of one's fence, and it can be quite useful out where my husband and I live. There are two of them, they come packaged nicely, they come with the needed screws for the project, but also, they come with a wood drill so you can drill into wooden fences before installing the posts which is a nice added touch! My husband opened the package and was impressed by the thoughtful and elaborate packaging. We do have a weak fence on our property, and this is going to help make a few parts of it sturdy! My husband did have one complaint for me to pass along; he didn't like that the box came without any instruction manuals, or some piece of paper to identify what the package even was. He opened it unsure of what it was at first, eventually figuring it out, but it would have made it faster work if there was simply a piece of paper in the box saying something about the product. Still, it is a fine made product and should make our fence stand even stronger! ... show more

  • Heavy Duty And Taller Than Some Anchors I've Seen - Work Great
As much fencing as we have on our property, it’s just a fact of life that occasionally there will be a problem with the pressure treating process and a post will fail. I have purchased other brands of these type anchors and most have worked well. These are as good as any of the others I’ve used. The fact that they are single piece as opposed to the two-piece style that must be assembled is a big plus. They are tall... heavy gauge steel... nicely finished... will work well with heavy privacy fencing or 6” x 6” posts used with rail fencing. They do cost a little more than some I have seen, but for the quality, they are worth it. ... show more

So I ran into issue and since my post is rotted I was unable to actually try the stakes out.
