  • It's the best keyboard I've touched
The media could not be loaded. I’m loving the keyboard! The aluminum build makes it feel super sturdy and high-quality. It’s got a nice weight to it, and the sound of the keys is so satisfying. The switches feel amazing to type on—just perfect. If you’re into mechanical keyboards, this one’s a no-brainer! ... show more

  • Overall a good purchase for it’s price
It’s a nice keyboard and has a nice clacky sound, sturdy and heavy on account of its frame being made of aluminum. It doesn’t have legs so you can’t adjust its angle. The keycaps are south facing, which is the only downside of it, but you can replace them. Probably the best keyboard for this price.

  • How do they do it?
TL;DR: Buy it. You won't find better features at this price. Pros: - Aluminum build under 70 - Deep thocky key presses, you really can't go wrong. The factory lubing is fantastic - The stabs are well balanced, no rattle - The knob is very tactile and feels great. Out of the box controls the volume and you can mute by pressing down on the knob. - Some people don't like the legends on the front of the keycap but if you touch type, then it does not make much of a difference. Mostly an aesthetic thing. - 3/5 pin hotswap too Cons: - The board does sound a bit hollow but you can always add some foam, easy to mod ... show more

  • Solid Keyboard
This keyboard is built like a tank. It is the heaviest keyboard I've ever used. The travel is about the average with no audible sound or tactile feel. I like the feel of the keyboard and the volume knob in the corner. Only thing I don't like about this keyboard is the layout of the Function keys placement. F1 starts too close to the ESC so it is hard to get use to it during games. ... show more

  • Full aluminum, hotswap and type C wired only
XVX did a fully aluminum keyboard they call the YK820 and it is a solid, heavy keyboard with some noticeable case ping and works with Win and MacOS. The pcb and plate are flex cut, comes with some serious RGB and it is hotswap so you can change out the switches to your preference as long as it's 3/5 pin replacements. As you can see in the description page these are south facing LEDs and that's good because the keycaps are shine through side printed legends with the typical cherry profile. They ARE double shot PBT keycaps and of an acceptable thickness. The encoder (volume wheel) has more than one purpose and they call it Dual Mode, just means you can use the encoder for volume levels/mute and then FN+ Knob to adjust RGB. Pressing the FN and turning/pressing the knob changes the effects as you scroll with the knob. They call it Game and Office modes but honestly I would use the RGB either way because it's pretty. My stabilizers were acceptable out of the box and I did not notice any rattle and these linear switches feel smooth, well lubed and are very light so it does not require a lot of effort to register a key press. For modding I have not opened the case but I believe removing the key caps and the rotary knob would allow you to access the screws (I could be wrong) and you can take a look inside the case. XVX did not make this QMK/VIA programmable so you would need to download their proprietary software for recording macros and key mapping. Not sure if the software works with any MacOS though. I know the mirrored plate is attractive but you won't see it when it's sitting on your desk and I'm not lifting this heavy thing just to stare at it but it is nice and shiny and you know it is there. The keyboard does not have adjustable flippy feet and sits kind of flat but there is a slight rise and I do not know the degree of it but it is elevated enough for me. The gasket mounts are noticeable to me but it does not make or break the YK820 either way in my opinion but to others it may make a world of difference. If I'm testing out a keyboard it remains at the stock configuration and it certainly does have some flex and I know there are gaskets. The YK820 does have some positive attributes for gaming or general keyboard use and the 75% gives you more desk space without losing the F1-F12 row keys.. It also has some drawbacks like the side printed legends on the keycaps that I never have liked on any keyboard so they'd be first to go. For some the fact it is only wired can be a drawback too but I have other wireless boards so I can always use a different setup if needed. Now the biggest complaint I have is the "user guide" which is completely un-useable. If someone is not familiar with the 60%-75% keyboards they need the guide for short cuts and this "guide" is practically not useful at all because it is printed so small it'd take a magnifying glass to read. Do better XVX because this is not a good way to introduce your products to the consumer market. Rant aside, this is too common in the manufacturing of devices of all types and needs to be addressed because it should not be a thing that is overlooked in the first place. I still give this keyboard 4 stars because it is a solid working keyboard with some missed opportunities they should have considered but for the cost it does have value and I'm comfortable with recommending it as a good enough keyboard. ... show more

  • So easy to type with.
This keyboard reminds me of the early days of computers. Yes, I am that old, I started on an IBM AT computer with 2, 5.25" floppy drives and an orange monochrome monitor. The key sound is nearly identical to that old key board made all out of metal, not plastic. Plugging this into my Windows PC, it recognized it right away and I was off and typing. I still have my old keyboard plugged in at the same time and both work. My wife likes using the 10 key for our finances on the old keyboard, but other than that I don't miss the other one. I chose the teal blue light as it's the brightest and I can see the key designators. The rubber feet combined with the weight of this thing keeps it planted and secure from sliding. The volume/mute knob work great and the addition of the "windows" key allows me to use all the functions I am accustomed to. I miss fewer letters while typing because I can hear the key strokes make contact. Great fun. ... show more

  • BEST OUT OF BOX KEYBOARD I HAVE
THOCKY, this thing feels and sounds great. It’s heavy, it’s aluminum, it feels valuable and delivers. Definitely replacing my main keys with this.
