Each box has two shelves with two separate containers that sit perfectly on the shelves. So the organizer can be used in multiple ways. Slide the containers on the shelves or use the containers for additional storage. Very versatile! Had a tiny blip of a missing "foot" (to be applied at the bottom to secure the organizer from moving around on a surface). This is a nifty shelf, but not really right for under-sink storage, unless every item is lightweight. I did not pay attention to measurements because the picture online shows a perfect fit under a sink. In fact, it’s too short to fill the space from front to back, leaving empty space in front or behind unit, and my sink cabinet is a standard size. It assembles easily, but peeps, this is not a sturdy storage unit. When I put a tall bottle of lotion on the top shelf, I could see and feel the strain on the rather fragile bars that hold the top shelf up.
