I have never written a product review and take the reviews for a product with a grain of salt. However, after our trip this past June to Surry, Maine and Ogunquit, Maine where water temps ranged from 45 degrees to 55 degrees...well, I had to give my feedback on these wet suits for my 4 year old and 7 year old. First, size guide/chart is helpful and accurate. I purchased the suits based on the manufactured size recommendations. The suits are durable and well made! I am very impressed with the quality. And most importantly, they do what they were intended to do. Both of my children swam in those frigid Maine waters and were not cold. No blue lips or chattering teeth...in fact they swam for hours at a time. Parents and grandparents at the beach thought the wet suits were amazing and a great idea. When I would unzip the wetsuits the heat coming off their body and the inside of the wetsuit was unbelievable. Wet suits should let a small amount of water in between the suit and the body. Your body temp warms the water and that is what keeps you warm....great product! Highly recommend! Makes a Maine vacation so much more enjoyable for everyone! ... show more

    • Perfect for the cold waters of Lake Superior
I ordered this for my 7 year old who turns blue and shivers after only minutes of swimming in Lake Superior even on the hottest days. He wears a boys medium in shirts, size 7 pants and this fits him well. Not so tight it would be hard for him to get off. We should be able to get 2 summers out of it. He can now swim for hours and not get cold! He can get in and out of it by himself. I think it would be harder if it was the full length arms and legs. I'm so happy we went with this! Kids grow so fast I cannot invest heavily in high quality/ expensive wetsuits. So this one does smell like toxic death initially but fades over time. The 3/2 is *just* warm enough for spring and fall sailing in Northern California if you have other gear (booties, neoprene hat, spray jacket, maybe gloves). The size 10 fit my tallish and skinny 10 year old well but one year later, it was super short and tight- we sized up, when he turned 11.5, to a size 12, but the belly/ torso area is HUGE on ours. This wetsuit is good for my son's swimming classes . We went to the YMCA to have a swimming class every weekend. You know in winter in Wisconsin , although there is heat in the swimming pool, but the water is still cold for the kids , I am trying to buy a wetsuit for him to wear , and this one fits him perfect ! It surprised me that this price can buy such a good quality one. My son is 5 years old and we chose the size 6, which fit him perfectly. It is soft and warm . My son likes it very much. Last Saturday , he had been wearing it in the swimming pool , he played in the water for a long time and he did not feel cold any more . This is our first time to buy the wetsuit , we are happy for this one. The kids grow very fast , and I think we will buy another one , HEVTO is a good brand , we strongly recommend !!!!!!! This cute wetsuit fits my granddaughter very well, and kept her warm in 82 degree Caribbean water on a snorkeling tour from a catamaran. She had no problems putting it on or taking it off, given it is a wetsuit, and all wetsuits are tight and require a bit of tug and pull to fit properly. She is 11 years old, normal size. This is a top notch suit but my 8 year old is skinny and tall, it was pretty small for her. I ended up sending it back twice. Sizing is not so accurate.
