My 1921 desk has raw wood drawers with original patina. Placing contact paper inside, to prolong life, with all the scissors, Sharpies, paper clips and modern day office supplies, seemed to be the best idea. This is my 2nd time buying this paper, this black one specifically for desk. Paper has grid lines on the back, making it easy to cut to size. Make sure you have cleaned surface where paper is going, and it's dry. After cutting, I find peeling half of the backing back makes it easy to position and re-position to tweak it into correct position. It's easy to install without "bubbles." You can use X-Acto knife or sharp box cutter to trim, if you have very steady hands, but as long as you've cut along grid-lines for cuts to be square, you should be fine and have a flush look. I used a ruler on back to measure twice-three times, cut once. While it adheres just fine, it's not hard to remove it, as long as you haven't added anything to the stickiness of the backing. As cover on shelves, bottom of closets and inside drawers, it will stay in place just fine. I'm sure it can easily be used as "background" in bookcases as well, although I've only used it on horizontal surfaces at this time. Easy to install, looks amazing! The pattern is tan rather than gold. Only drawback is there is a white line on the seams (probably glue). I ran a black sharpie on the seam and it worked great.

First panel went up fine (always the easiest) but the 2nd one would not align. In fact, it wasn’t even close. The bottom was perfectly aligned, so was the top and the middle had a huge section where it had to have a huge bubble and wrinkle in order for it to line up. Not to mention it literally just started falling off the wall while we were just looking at it. We’ve done countless walls at our many Airbnb’s and this stuff is cheappppppp and not made well at all. Let me start off by saying that I didn’t have enough to finish this wall in one go, but I also didn’t measure so that’s my own fault and not the company’s. For my first time doing peel and stick wallpaper I feel like this was SUPER easy. My mom and a friend both said they’d had trouble doing it in the past themselves, but I was able to put this one roll up in less than 10 minutes by myself with nothing but a step stool, a pair of scissors and my hands. It sticks well, but is also easy to move around and adjust before smoothing it out. It’s also got a sort of matte/glossy cross hatch sort of finish to it in person? But it still looks good. There is also a glue smell to it, but it went away after a little bit of airing out. ... show more

I love the wall paper. I ordered one roll and then ordered more. The two batches have different shades of gold. I have to take the bright wall paper out. I loved the bright gold. My advice. Order at once

    • Received Different Texture Paper

I loved the first version of this wallpaper that I received, it had a very textured feel and looked really nice. I bought the longer roll and needed to buy more, so I bought 2 of the medium rolls because for the same price, you actually get more paper. But, I started putting it up and realized that the texture was completely different! I ordered another roll hoping this was a fluke, but no, every roll I ordered after continued to be a smoother texture. I was very disappointed. I had to take the wallpaper off and start over again with the new rolls. The patterns do match up, but it created a lot of waste in doing so, about 18 inches for me, so I lost 5ft of the roll just trying to match the patterns - total bummer and wish the pattern was more repetitive to help with this. Overall, I do love the look, it's what I was going for. The paper was finicky around corners of window trim and ended up with rips sometimes, but was able to piece back together. It can come off the wall, but will not unstick from itself, so be patient when applying. It's basically just contact paper for the wall in prettier variations than we are used to. It will cost almost $200 (4 rolls -5 rolls) to do a 10x15 wall even with a large window for reference. ... show more

This wallpaper works and looks great. I used it to line the inside of a cabinet. I didn’t get enough to finish but I’m happy so far. Pretty thick so a little hard to get into fine grooves, but my mistakes weren’t noticeable. Adheres well. The black and gold is very pretty with a shiny finish, it looks pricey imo. Only thing was it has a strong paint smell to it but that’ll probably go away as it airs out. Good price for how much I got. ... show more
