I'm impressed. It is better than some of the more expensive brands. I put it on three 5000 sized reels and have used the rods heavily all summer for catching bluefish, large ribbon fish, black drum, red drum and other heavy fish as well as lighter ones like well like spots and whiting. The line is very durable without weak spots and much smoother. No noise when reeling in. I'll buy more next time ----------- original review---------- I've only just started using this line on multiple reels so I don't know about durability yet. using 30 lb braid on a 9 foot rod first time surf fishing and this performed well, no issues whatsoever. I was heavy casting 3+ oz lures and weights on a 9ft rod as hard as I could and the braid held up perfectly. I put a 20lb mono leader on it

This line is pretty nice IMO. Held knots , didn't shred when dragged over (under) railings /pylons and cast quite well. By no means am I an avid fishermen, just a few days a month. I fish primarily from shore along the inner coastal areas around Tampa. The camo color vanishes in the water which makes it hard to see , proved to be a negative for me . Still, nice line . I wanted to find an affordable 8-strand to try, so I bought this one and KastKing in 50# and Mounchain in 40# (they didn't have 50#). Mounchain was a bad color, not like what was pictured and I really wanted more than 40 anyway, so that one was out. This Hercules and KastKing did hold 50# in my very simple dumbbell weight test. I spooled up the KastKing because I want to like that brand, but I didn't love it. It didn't seem to go back on the spool well after casting and it was still very loud. It just felt like regular twine winding back on the spool on retrieve. So then I tried this one (Hercules) and really liked it. Hercules broke at 50# twice on my dumbbell weight test but it also succeeded other times as well so I guess it's a bad test and 50# is right at the max. Hercules spools back on the reel very well, seems much quieter, and is a little cheaper than the KastKing (which means it's way cheaper than everything else). I might recommend buying the next test weight up from what you really want because I don't think this is industrial strength stuff, but I do think it's worth the price and I am happy with it. At least you get a cool picture of a swordfish. ... show more
