Description

The Thermoprene wetsuit line from Henderson Aquatics for Women delivers quality and performance a step above the rest. A fantastic value, Thermoprene is ideal for budget-minded divers who want the best in materials, design and construction. Thermoprene is crafted from a high quality neoprene that has 75% more stretch than standard wetsuit material. This increased stretch significantly improves diver comfort by making Thermoprene suits noticeably more flexible than the competition. Thermoprene is also easier to get into, pulling over the shoulders and around the waist with less huff and puff than standard wetsuits. And, the fabric's exterior stands up extremely well to friction, meaning it won't show undue wear from BC straps and weight belts. Flexibility, comfort and core warmth are all hallmarks of the Thermoprene Women's Shorty, which is now available in an easy-entry, front-zip design. Wear it alone to prolong your dives in tropical waters or pair it up with a jumpsuit to increase core warmth in more temperate waters. The heavy-duty front 10-YKK zipper makes getting into this Shorty easy on the joints and also layers seamlessly with back-zip suits or full-length johns. Henderson's quality fit-and finish include glued and blind stitched seams and Lycra trimmed arm and leg holes. The Thermoprene Shorty's effectiveness is based on a contoured fit that helps keeps water exchange to a minimum comb.

  • just love this suit
Color: Black/Purple Size: 16
this is the second suit in this make and model I have had. Only had to purchase the second one because of my weight loss surgery. I am now 5'4" and weigh 214 and purchased a size 16. The fit is perfect A little snug on the arm but will loosen once in the water. The previous size was a 24 when I was 280 pounds. They are very easy to get on/off with the front zipper on an angle. The 3 mm is great for warm waters of the Caribbean. The only wear the previous suit had was on the left shoulder where it developed a bit of "pilling" from the BCD rubbing. other then that it looks brand new after 100 dives. Zipper is large and sturdy. All the seams are rugged and secure. ... show more

  • Very well made, easy to put on, keeps you warm
I do a lot of swimming and take this wetsuit on vacations to Cape Hatteras and for snorkeling in the Virgin Islands. This is a good weight suit that will keep you warm even in cooler water that you have in spring and fall. The suit is very well made and easy to put on because the zipper is in the front versus the back. I have had a lot of suits in the past that have the standard back zipper and they are a pain to get on and zip up. The zipper is a strong excellent quality zipper that won't break after many uses. The suit has good thread quality and strength. This suit also comes in a variety of sizes, regular, petite and tall. I highly recommend this suit. In fact, I donated all the other shorty wetsuits that I own and purchased a second Henderson suit so that I have a spare in case they ever stop making this suit. ... show more

  • PETITE-PLUS REVIEW
I'm 5'3", hourglass shape. In Old Navy rockstar jeans I wear a straight size 20, and am between an 18/20 and 22/24 top at LB, with a 44F chest. I ordered a size Petite 22 based on the vendor size chart and comments about general fit. I expected it to be tight, as that's necessary for it to work properly. The front zip style made getting in and out a breeze, and the length of the leg was perfect. Weight as expected for 3mm, with good flexibility in the shoulders that is important for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking that I use if for. Where I had issues: the arms and legs were not as tight as they needed to be once I got into the water. The whole suit felt great on land, though I noticed the neck wasn't super-fitted, and I had some space around my mid-back area, once I got into the water the arms and legs and neck were loose enough that when I did more than float, the cold water was coming into the suit with each small wave. I tried pushing the legs and sleeves up to a larger part of my bicep/thigh to 'hack' the fit, but they wouldn't stay There was nothing I could do about the neck, and that was to some extent the biggest problem - rather than fit like a mock turtleneck, there's a collar with a cut-out where the zipper comes up. Because there was some room in the back, I think the neck fit was compromised. The length was just right - it actually may be more comfortable for someone shorter than 5'3", because there was a bit of strain on the back of my neck to stand up straight (out of the water), and there was no bunching on the fabric in the front/length. I probably need a size 20 in the body, though the length may be too short. However, the flexibility, comfort, ease of the suit are fantastic, and when I was standing in the neck-deep water at what we believe was 71 degrees, I was totally comfortable and warm, even when we stepped out into 62 degree temps and 20mph winds! Kudos to Henderson for seeing the market opportunity. It's bonkers that men AND women who are larger literally have for most of history had no wetsuit options. ... show more

  • Henderson Women's Thermoprene Springsuit
Color: Black/Purple Size: 14
I was very happy when I received this wetsuit as it fit well. I use it for pool swimming as I get rather cold in public pools. For the first month all was good...I was much warmer and happy. Then the wetsuit got looser so I added a thermal swim shirt underneath. Now (having had it for less than 3 months, I feel cold all the time. I rinse it out with a chlorine remover after each swim....not sure what else I can do. ... show more

  • Great petite wetsuit!
I love this wetsuit! I am about 5 feet tall and 155 pounds and the 14 petite fits like a comfy glove! It is surprisingly stretchy so would have good fit flexibility. All my past wetsuits were too long in the torso and not snug enough at the neck so there was excess water inside the suit and ongoing water exchange around the neck, decreasing warmth. This is the first petite I have found and it is perfect! It even slims one's profile, as an added plus. In some places I had to tug the suit together with a degree of effort to zip it, but it settled back into place, comfortably adding some control over contours! I also liked the front zip feature, which opens all the way to the bottom on the left front leg. Easy to put on and take off. Amazon, please carry more womens petite wetsuits in longer lengths and different thicknesses! Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great wetsuit!
As a plus-sized woman who is also short, finding a wetsuit that fit me and didn't break the bank was important. I went through pages and pages of wetsuits, researched the best for my size, and finally settled on a Henderson. It is very tight (like it should be), but still comfortable when on. I don't like the zipper in the front, but that is my issue, not theirs. I feel like I'm being strangled when I have something that close to my neck. Otherwise, the arms & legs are a little big, but not enough so to allow too much water in. I'm fairly comfortable in colder water, even though it's rated for higher temps. I may just break down and purchase a full wetsuit, knowing how well this one fits and performs! ... show more

  • Just Okay.
This product fit well. I really liked having the zipper in the front—made getting the suit on and off very easy. I did not find the material to be very insulating—I am very sensitive to cold water. I tried this suit in a cold, northern lake and still felt the temperature of the water indeed!
