This is a rigid set of what I would call fence post splints. For home or farm use, they're sized properly and have a nice enough powder coat that they could last a good long time - I'm guessing longer at this point than some of my older posts. My back chain link fencing has to be 50+ years old and, while most of my original creosote coated 4x6 posts remain almost good as new, a handful have begun rotting at the base. I installed four of these repair pieces today and all of them have left their respective posts much more secure! Installation couldn't be much easier. I scraped an inch of grass and soil away where I wanted them installed and pounded the pointy end down with a heavy rubber mallet. (I found an old tree root installing one of them and had to get at it with a shovel and axe.) The kit includes both a drill bit and a bolt driver which was just a nice, added convenience. I'm pleased with how easy this was; my wife is especially pleased to have these fence posts reinforced to last, I'm guessing as long as another decade. Note1: These are 1-piece spikes and ship in a very large box; there are some other kits that sell with 2-piece spikes that you have to assemble and I'd strongly recommend these instead. Note2: The included lag bolts have plenty of girth but if you're going into wood that's weakened, you might want one or two longer ones of your own to compensate. ... show more

I used these brackets to help my friend temporarily fix some fence posts that need to be replaced. Important to take note is that the l shape doesn't allow a lot of room to clear concrete in the ground if the fence posts are done correctly. If you need more room to clear the concrete then just create a brace with a 2x4 and extend as far as you need to clear the concrete in the ground. Luckily and unluckily my friend had some people install his fence that didn't do a good job so these brackets fit but that's why the fence is failing. So I recommend to everyone to get a fencing contractor who knows what they are doing and cares about their work. Your fence will last longer. The brackets were easy to pound into the ground but that is because it's raining season and the ground was quite soft. I don't know how they would do in hard compacted soil so I recommend pre drilling a hole in the ground or softening soil by applying water. These brackets are quite expensive so if it was up to me I would just replace the fence post correctly, but if you are like my friend and looking for a temporary fix then these will do. ... show more

These are pretty solid. They seem heavy duty with how heavy they are. They mount very easy with the pre-drilled holes. I haven’t used them over the long haul to see how well they hold up, but I’m hopeful.

This fence post repair kit is really heavy duty. It has everything you need to install it included in the package to make the process go faster. I like the pointy end that helps to go into the ground much easier. The durability of it is still a question because I have just install it. If the rusting starts soon I will have to come back and update this review, but for now all is well and I recommend it. ... show more

I ordered these for another purpose than their intended use. I had to pour a couple of small to medium concrete slabs and needed something to hold and support the forms. These are perfect. They are very well made and heavy duty, I just hammered them into the ground, they have different height mounting holes I was able to screw in forms where I needed them and they held strong. I can see how they would work great as a fence post support too, once in the ground they are rock solid. ... show more

These fence post stakes are very heavy duty and I love them. The thing I like the most about them is how heavy they are, and how secure they are once you get them into the ground. Another thing I like about these is that they are thick and easy to work with. The thing I didn't like is that sometimes they did not go into the ground straight or they were going into the ground street but the top part would be somehow twisted so it wouldn't be completely flush against the post. I'm not sure what went wrong or whatever but I was able to maneuver it and manipulate it well enough that it was Workable. Another thing is they come with these really heavy duty bolts, which is amazing. I'm so happy that I got this because I needed these for some fence posts for my garden and these are definitely of a great quality and they're very easy to use and put into the ground really. ... show more

These are VERY heavy duty. Our soil was damp from a recent rain, and these pounded in fairly easily using a hand sledge. They really made a difference on a post that was failing at ground level. Much easier than replacing the post, and will add years of life.
