  • Rock-solid single-piece design, 20 MOA perfect for long range, very lightweight yet super strong.
Size: 30mm Tube Style: ‎Cantilever Mount, Picatinny Mount
Wow, DISCOVERYOPT folks keep impressing me more and more. I own several DISCOVERYOPT scopes and scope mounts, and I really like their design and build quality. So far, I did not have a single issue with any of their products, and this one is not an exception. I was expecting the same quality level from this scope mount, and it did not disappoint me. The overall build quality is excellent, it's on par if not better than Vortex, Burris, Bushnell, etc. products' quality in my opinion and at a fraction of the cost. I really like how they did all the cutouts in the base and rings to lower the overall weight without compromising the integrity of the mount. It's one of the lightest cantilever mounts I own, weighing merely 170 grams, but looks and feels rock-solid. I didn't have any alignment issues with the rings, and I did not need to lap the rings thanks to precision machining, index pins, and single-piece solid design of them. Though, I still expect that some people, being very particular about the scope fit, are still going to lap it a bit, which is totally unnecessary but not going to hurt either. The base of the mount uses 3 large Torx screws to securely clamp to a Picatinny rail plus 3 recoil stops that will guarantee that your scope will stay put and hold its zero under heavy high-caliber rifle recoil. I was particularly impressed by the fact that each scope ring has four index pins and uses six Torx screws (yes 6 screws on each ring, 12 in total!) to hold ring halves together providing exceptionally strong hold of the scope’s tube. This mount is really built like a tank to withstand anything! The only feature that I'm missing in the scope rings setup is a quick release mount. Another point for slight concern is that it's machined from lower-grade 6061 aluminum and not 7075, but this is a very solid and stable scope platform, and for the cost you can't go wrong. A bit of information about cantilever mounts. Cantilever scope mounts are designed to move optics out front and are specifically useful when you do not have a long enough Picatinny top rail. It is often used for flattop style AR-15 rifles with a short top rail or other similar rifle setups. The 2-inch offset of this cantilever mount relocates the scope a bit forward, supporting correct eye relief and head placement. This mount positions the center of the rifle scope tube at a height of 1.5 inches (38.1 mm) from the base, allowing you to mount the scope as close as possible to the rifle’s barrel. Also, and it’s especially important, the mount has a built-in 20 MOA “declination”, i.e. the mounted scope will be looking slightly downward (and barrel slightly upward). It’s specifically designed for long range shooting setup and provides you with fixed 20 MOA bullet drop compensation. Without this feature, you would have to move your scope reticle 80 clicks down to achieve the same 20 MOA compensation, which would limit the effective vertical range of adjustments of your scope. This is an extremely important feature for long range shooting and this mount will not work for mid and short range, make sure you understand this before ordering this mount! Pro-tip: Just make sure not to over-tighten the scope rings' screws when setting up your scope, and always use a torque limiting screwdriver with torque set below 25 in-lb. I personally prefer 20 in-lb, and it always holds up just fine. The mount also has the torque specs and screw tightening pattern printed on the scope rings for your convenience, though I think it's not necessary. Bottom line: The DISCOVERYOPT scope mount impresses with excellent build quality, lightweight design (170g), and strong grip thanks to precision machining and six Torx screws per ring. It's reliable under heavy recoil and ideal for long-range shooting with its 20 MOA declination for bullet drop compensation. While it lacks a quick release and is made from 6061 aluminum instead of 7075, it's a solid, affordable option. Best suited for AR-15 rifles with short top rails. Yes, I definitely recommend this rock-solid DISCOVERYOPT scope mount. The 2-inch offset supports correct eye relief and head placement, and the mount features a built-in 20 MOA bullet drop compensation for long-range shooting. It impresses with excellent build quality, lightweight design (170g), and strong grip thanks to precision machining and six Torx screws per ring. It's very lightweight yet and strong grip thanks to precision machining and six Torx screws per ring. The low profile allows to place a scope as close as possible to the barrel. The only thing I'm missing is the QD mount. But for the price of this scope mount, I'm not complaining at all. Solid 5 stars hands down. Pros: 1. Rock-solid single-piece design. 2. Precisely machined, no lapping needed. 3. Low profile, only 38 mm from the base. 4. Extremely lightweight, only 170 grams. 5. Matte, non-reflective mil-spec finish. 6. Designed for long-range rifle setups. 7. Has built-in 20 MOA bullet drop compensation. 8. Have 4 index pins and 6 Torx screws per scope ring! 9. Base uses 3 large Torx screws for secure grip. 10. Has 3 recoil stops to prevent any movement. Cons: 1. Non-QD Picatinny mount. 2. Crafted from lower-grade 6061 aluminum. ... show more

  • 20MOA cant is for long range steel
Size: 30mm Tube Style: ‎Cantilever Mount, Picatinny Mount
20MOA rails, essentially elongated and cantilevered riser rails, have been a hassle for me, so I thought I’d try a scope mount with 20MOA of cant milled right into its support rings. That mount turned out to be the DiscoveryOpt DGCM-3. It’s a cantilevered model, perfect for the AR platform, made of black anodized aluminum with sharply contrasting white lettering. The lettering is not just for show. It conveys essential information, like proper torque settings for the rings and base rail connections, and that would be, in case you’re interested, 20in/lbs and 30in/lbs, respectively. The mount weighs exactly 6.0 ozs on my Tanita KD 200 scales, and feels almost weightless in the hand. The mount has a professional look about it. And not more than an hour after arriving at my front door, it had become part of a very professional-looking ensemble. I mounted it on my latest build, a 6mm ARC with a 24" bbl, and topped it off with my Vortex Razor HD LHT 4.5-22x50 FFP. Tomorrow morning we’re headed for the long shoot pavilion to ring some steel. If the mount does its part and extends the scope's adjustment parameters, we should be ringing steel well beyond half a mile. ... show more

  • Good Scope Mount
Size: 30mm Tube Style: ‎Cantilever Mount, Picatinny Mount
This product came well packaged in a clear plastic box The machine work on it looks to be good quality. The inside of the rings do not have any finish. The mount has a built in 20 MOA cant. This really isn't needed for the AR-15 but could be helpful for AR-10. A torx tool and 2 extra screws are included with the mount. The finish is black and there is writing on the mount indicating the amount of torque to apply to the scope mounts and the rail mount. I wish there wasn't any writing on the mount. This information should be in the instructions. There are cuts made in the base to reduce overall weight. The product is lightweight and appears to be made of aluminum. This will fit a scope with a 30 mm tube and they also sell one for a 34 mm tube. This does not fit both tube sizes as another review stated. You need to order the size you need. I'm not sure if this mount will require lapping. I would have given this 5 stars if the finished the inside of the rings and didn't have writing on the finish of the mount. ... show more

  • Will work for "Big Bore" guns without the BIG price
Size: 30mm Tube Style: ‎Cantilever Mount, Picatinny Mount
If you are in the market for a really nice set of rings for your rifle, slow your search because they are here. These rings mount to your Picatinny rail with ease, they have a triple lug lock so there is no chance they will move. I choose the 30MM version since that is the size tubes on most of my optics. The rings come pre-honed for perfect alignment of your optic. Most rings need to be honed, even the expensive ones. Many of my buddies didn't believe me until I took their rings, mounted on THEIR rifle, and honed them. There are six mounting screws per cap, they are numbered for the proper tightening sequence, along with the proper torque recommendation. I am looking forward to taking these rings to the range and running rounds to see how well they actually work. The price is right, so why not give them a try. ... show more

  • Great value .
Size: 30mm Tube Style: ‎Cantilever Mount, Picatinny Mount
The design of the scope mount is on point. The build quality seems very good, and durable. The scopes mount attached to my picatinny rail system with no problem. My scope fit good in the scope mount saddle . The only thing I add was lock tight to all the screws, so there will be no movement in the scope saddle. I personally think it's a little heavy. But a great value for the money. It does everything it is supposed to do at a fraction of the price . I have only shot a hundred rounds through my rifle so time will tell with the durability of the scope mount. ... show more

  • High Quality
Size: 30mm Tube Style: ‎Cantilever Mount, Picatinny Mount
This scope mounting system is fantastic. It is precisely milled to high tolerance and has a robust mounting system that allows you to connect it to a Picatinny system reliably. It came in a protective plastic box designed to house it perfectly. It also came with a key and screws. The one I got is suited for a 30mm scope, but you can choose the 34mm unit if your scope's body matches this wider diameter. ... show more
