  • great pool table especially for the money

got this table for the family for xmas, had my strong nephew and friend carry the table top to the basement thru the hatchway (it was a tight fit but just cleared the stair opening) - much more manageable if you unpack the huge box, once we got all the parts down there we had it assembled and set up in about 15 minutes, make sure you have enough people (or two strong guys) to turn the table right side up without rotating it on the legs - the legs may be strong enough to but didn't want to risk it. my basement floor must be pretty level because the pool surface was perfectly level without any further adjustments. the accessories are ok quality - the balls are pretty good (i'm just a recreational player used to playing bar tables), but the sticks are featherweight wood-look plastic and the triangle is basic. i ordered some pretty nice weighted Viper cues for about $30 and a wood 8 & 9 ball rack - they rack the balls much tighter, also got a box of red chalk (came with blue) so that any residual chalk wouldn't show up. also bought a moose bridge which i just slipped onto one of the cheap sticks. not including the sticks, the replacement accessories (chalk, dots, racks and bridge were only about $30 here on amazon). as for performance, i am by no means a pro, but i think it's fantastic for the money, the quality is surprisingly good, so far after a fair amount of use the felt is holding up just fine as i would hope it should. also bought some stick on dots as surface didn't didn't have them and it makes it much easier to locate the rack. the ping pong top, although smaller than regulation is pretty good, as long as you take care to put the two halves together - they join in the middle with 3 wood pegs so you need to slide them together, if you were to lift one side up to take apart you'd probably break the pegs. the paddle are pretty cheap but work, we got a nicer set to replace them. the net, which works pretty well, is poorly sewn at the ends where the loops slip onto the vertical posts, but not a problem, we just sewed them back on, you might as well reinforce all four of them because they will come undone pretty soon - but it works great now after fixing. the top is 1/2" and has nice action and actually is a perfect size for my kids (ages 7 & 10). as for the pool table size, i always thought the room in my basement wasn't wide enough, so i never thought about getting one, length is fine (22' x <11' wide), but in actuality, i can use a full size cue for most shots, i bought a nice weighted 48" cue for when i'm jammed up on the side rail and it works great, but the 7' table size works great in that width room and is perfect for the kids. everyone loves the table, we play it all weekend or whenever else we can ... show more

The first one arrived damaged so I set up a date to bring a new one and pick up the damaged one. Very courteous service. The new one arrived, undamaged and on schedule but they didn't pick up the damaged one. They said they don't pick up, only deliver. SO, I contacted Amazon again and they said I will be receiving a date for them to come pick up the damaged pool table. That was on July 1st and as of yet I haven't received that email, it's now the 8th. Hoping they don't try to charge me 2x. Other than that, pool table/ping pong table is great and we've had a lot of fun with them. ... show more

  • For what it costs, it's completely acceptable.

Going into this, you have to understand that you're getting what you pay for. There aren't any serious tables anywhere near this price range. As such, THIS table isn't what I'd call a serious table. It's purely for occasional banging around balls and no one is comparing it to a Brunswick table or comparable name. This is just above Fisher-Price or Franklin quality that you'd find at big box stores. So keeping that in mind, you're getting exactly what you pay for. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less depending on your expectations. The unit comes in a single H-E-A-V-Y box strapped to an extended pallet. At MINIMUM, you're gonna need two people who understand they EACH need to lift their own ~150lbs of awkward weight. If you can't deadlift 150lbs, find people who can. Thus, I recommend 3 or 4 average people. Once you have it where you plan on setting it up, all you do is open up the box and attach the legs. Each leg gets secured with 4 small screws. Once the legs are attached, turn it over and you're DONE! You'll notice as soon as you go to attach the legs that the quality is about as inexpensive in materials and workmanship as you can get. Again...think of what you paid. It's all particle board or composite MDF. It goes together once with staples & glue from the factory. It isn't meant to come apart. And if it does, throw it out; you can't repair these types of materials. In my particular case, I was really contemplating what star-rating to give in the "easy to assemble". Mine was NOT easy to assemble because of a manufacturing assembly defect as shown in the pics. I had to modify a piece of bracing because it was not placed correctly and it prevented a leg from mounting. Can't have a pool table with only three working legs! Because this was in a basement, there was no way I was going to return it. Only because it was low quality composite materials, I was able to route out enough space to fit the leg in. This would probably be a show-stopper for most people, so take that for what it's worth. Beyond that...what else? Keeping in line with the quality of the build materials, the top side is passable. The felt is "good enough". It's a heavy nap, so it plays a bit slower. The laminate on top of the rails is also passable. A few minor bubbles here and there, but otherwise, fine. The bumpers and felt wrapping was fine. The plastic cups for pockets are fine, if not a pinch shallow. The bottom of the legs have adjustment screws to set the level. Mine needed effectively no leveling, so that was a plus! I just used a standard 1meter construction-grade bubble level. I didn't break out a machinist's level because this table doesn't warrant that. The only other major complaint I had is the supplied cues. They are exceptionally lightweight, like possibly in the 10oz or less range. These lightweight cues and the heavier nap table surface make for a very challenging break and general playing. There's little finessing that can take place with that combination. Using the supplied cues, you have to be very heavy-handed in every shot. I didn't use the table tennis topper. I do know that it's really heavy and will also require two people to put it on the table. Which is fine because most of the time, table tennis requires two people. Nice how that works out! All the table tennis stuff is in its own box (shipped within the main box). I didn't pull it out its box so I can't speak to the quality. More importantly, I don't know if it has any pads or anything to protect the pool table rails from getting scuffed up. So in summary...I gave this purchase 5-stars based on what you get for the price. No one who's serious about pool is going to buy this table. But it is better than some 2-in-1 wannabe table from Franklin or other ultra-budget brandnames. As long as people don't go leaning on the table, or kids playing all over it...if you treat it as you'd treat a more expensive table, it should last. (Note about longevity...humidity is the enemy of low-grade wood-based parts which is the entire basis of this table. If this table resides in a high-humidity environment, don't expect many years of use before warping and general looseness starts to become evident.) ... show more

  • Looks Great but Playing a friendly game is not good at all!
Style: Multi Game
I purchased the Pool Table to give me something to do during recovery from my total knee replacement surgery. The Table looks Great after installation but playing a friendly game is not so friendly or good at all! The balls are supposed to bounce of a minimum of 4 rails when hit, but on this table the balls are struggling to bounce off two walls. I had no clue until visiting a Pro Shop Technician. I would not make this purchase ever again before seeing in person to verify how it plays. ... show more
