The wand looks better in real life to me. In the photo, it looks lighter than it is, which is good. I whad the "Harry Potter" version of this wand previously. It was good looking as well but was lost at Islands of Adventure a couple months back. I liked the price of this wand and I knew what to expect for performance. Right after I ordered it, a new Fantastic Beast Trailer was released. I feel like I got lucky and got a nice wand at a good price. There was one small issue and a possible future issue. When I first got the wand, it didn't seem to light. After messing with it (future problem) it started working. It seemed like the switch was "dirty" and needed to be "broken in"or used. Someone reported the batter door being painted shut. Mine is. I did try to open it, but didn't get it open. I stopped messing with it when the light started working good. ... show more

These are beautiful wands but don't give them to rambunctious boys who will actively reenact duels between Harry Potter and Voldemort. My 8yr old and 4 yr old loved them but after a few "expelliarmous" and "leviosa" and "lumos," the wands were cracked and no longer lit up. We purchased a cheaper set that, when (not if 😊) broken again, won't be as expenses to replace. We will purchase a new one of these wands for our eldest that will come out for special occasions, like light-painting with his Nana. If you have older kids or gentler kids or girls (since they tend to be less rambunctious), this is a magnificent wand and I recommend it! ... show more

Bought this as a Christmas Present for my Wife who is a huge Harry Potter fan. I must say this product was even cooler than the little promo video on the page states. Pro's: The build quality is great very thick plastic that doesn't feel cheap. The molding is almost as good as the prop replica wands you can buy that are twice as expensive. The only Complaint about the build quality would be that the power button isn't molded more seamlessly into the wand itself, it kinda sticks out like a wart. And the LED light at the tip was not socketed into the want casing as well as it could. Small complaints for an otherwise great Product. The App is easy to use, and in less than a minute my wife was painting the room in light (and it really does a good job of mimicking the "wand effects" from the movies) If you want a Potter Movie wand that looks good, and has extra features, I'd suggest going with this company. ... show more

I have Hermiones version of this wand and I it is pretty fragile, Hermiones version is cracked but still usable. I needed Newts wand to add to my collection and this was the cheapest one I could find. Mine is for display and picture purposes only. If you buy this for your child I would definitely supervise them with it as it can break easily. But it is still a very beautiful replica of Newts wand and I love it. ... show more
