We purchased this Hario V60 Glass Coffee Dripper, Size 02, Olive Wood in June 2020, and we were happy with it until now. The glass dripper and olive-wood holder are quite pleasing to the eye. Also, thanks to a number of excellent YouTube videos about how to brew coffee using the V60, we've established a reliable way of making the perfect cup of coffee every morning. Unfortunately, we've recently noticed that black mold is growing inside the groove of the olive-wood dripper holder. As Hario suggests in the instruction manual, we wipe the holder with a dish cloth to remove water every time we use it, as it collects moisture from making coffee even if you securely place the black silicone piece into the wooden holder. And we've never left it soaking in water. Although the part of the groove with mold doesn't touch the coffee directly, we're concerned about possible contamination of the coffee when the mold is exposed to heat and moisture during brewing. Is this happening only to our holder? Should we stop using it, or are we being overly cautious? I really like the look of this glass V60 with olive-wood holder, but if I decide to buy it again, I will get a ceramic one. ... show more

I'm not sure if a glass funnel is objectively worth $25, but I've definitely gotten my money's worth. I use this daily with my #2 Hario coffee pot to make 2 large servings of coffee. It's some of the best coffee I've tasted (better than my french press).

I have been making pour-over coffee for decades. The ceramic drippers, while good, generally have small bases that don't fit today's larger mugs. The openings at their bases are also small, making the drip process take so long that the coffee is only warm by the end of the process. This glass dripper with the olive wood base has a substantially larger opening that allows the coffee to flow faster. The rubber gasket along with the wood base seals the heat in the mug, keeping it much warmer than would normally be the case. Washing it is easy as it comes apart. My suggestion is to wash and dry the gasket immediately after use to avoid mold accumulating, as others have reported. I have kept my previous dripper as a backup, but I doubt I'll need it for a long, long time. ... show more
