I used these for sculpey and epoxy small-scale figurines. I do a lot of fun little projects as a hobby- modifying miniatures and creating objects from scratch. Growing up I just used paperclips and tooth picks and popsicle sticks- whatever we had laying around, and at some point I realized I was a Real Adult with a job and I could buy real tools. I grabbed these because the price was nice and there was a variety of tools in different sizes so I could work on normal sized action figures or little teeny tabletop minis. I wish I’d had these in college when doing ceramic projects; they would have been great! So far, so good- I’ve used them for two projects so far (only one of which I have photos of). The rubber tools are fantastic for smoothing clay and do a decent job if you are taking chunks off of a sculpture while also having enough give to let you naturally detail things comfortably. My only issue was that one of the rubber sculpting tools came apart as they sometimes do right at the metal grip, but it’s an easy fix with some glue or extra epoxy. Great value and good quality. I previously purchased the Michael's brand ones and they were god-awful. I'm so so so happy with these. They're nicely milled, no flashing or cuts. Great variety of sizes to work with.

Great tools for highly detailed polymer artwork! Use them to create these critters for my small business MYSTIC POTS STUDIO. The silicone slides over the clay very easily. I used Super Sculpey “the beige” colored one for these projects. Highly recommend!

    • Material too soft and flexible for Green Stuff
I like the design of these, and they look like they should do what one might expect them to do. They just don't, not with Army Painter's Green Stuff. If you use a diluted Milliput, these will be helpful, but they're really useless with Green Stuff. Make these in the same form factors with a stiffer material, and they'd be a real winner. ... show more

these are PERFECT for me but if you don't ever want to have to worry about the handles falling off then you should buy something else because the glue holding the pieces together is very weak (if it's even there) but if you don't mind gluing them back together a few times at the beginning then I think this set is awesome !! I lovee the dotting tools for sculpting aND for paint! I use the entire set for making clay animal faces for my etsy shop :)) (I'm milosmagicmenagerie if you wanna checkout the stuff I make with these!!) ... show more

These are a MUST. It's no wonder I struggled with sculpting my polymer clay figurines before this.

    • Not strong enough for miliput, can't shape it with these
Got these hoping to help shape some miliput, but they bend a ton. Like, lightly press the detail small ones into it, and it just bends, doesn't resist enough to shape even kneeded five minutes ago miliput with some water sprinkled on it. I mean, sure, you can leave a slight line/mark dragging it across the surface but that's about it. A toothpick is better atthat though not just bending randomly. The bigger ones, non detail ones, are thick enough to offer a bit of resistance to work on larger softer surfaces, though still not great. I was using this for minature work, so I needed the small ones 95% of the time, and they really just don't work for it. The only use I've gotten out of them was to just push the miliput or green stuff into the gaps/corners between other pieces of plastic/resin, it helps produce a slightly smoother gap fill than using a hard tool or cotonswob in that use case. But that's really it... at that point, get a good pair of these that are tougher, the low cost for a whole bunch looks like a good deal but if youc an't use it... it's practically just trash that gets in the way and you'll feel the need to toss out after wasting time on anyway. Won't say no one can get use out of them... but basicly worthless for my use of small miniature scultputing and shaping. A cheap pencil and it's eraser, yes as bad as that sounds, if careful to minimize it leaving bits behind, works much better than these. Wood sticks and metal ball shapers for linework are ok... nothing great, but again toothpicks work as well half the time, barely touched those but they are ok, only reason it's still getting two stars. ... show more
