I've bought a thousand things on Amazon and left maybe 5 reviews, but I have to give this coffee maker 5 stars and sing it's praises. Yes, it's easy to use, yes it's versatile, yes it saves space, but most importantly it makes delicious coffee. I've had Keurigs, I've had Bunns, but this makes the best tasting coffee from a pod that I've ever had. Using a standard k pod on the bold setting makes a perfect tasting 12oz. cup of coffee with great flavor that can totally stand up to the half and half and Splenda that I add. It has turned my son from a casual coffee sipper to a full fledged dedicated drinker now. It makes great pots of coffee too. I'll never buy a different coffee maker again. ... show more

I purchased this because it had a lot of features. Of course it takes KEURIG pods that I liked. It also has an attachment to where if you like to make hot tea it comes with its own tea strainer. The pot is wonderful if you have many guests and want to save on the pods. The water container in the back is perfect. Easy to get to no fuss in replacing the water. My girlfriend gave me a Britta as a gift, so I fill it with water and it has its strainer so my machine gets low on water. I popped the top off pour it and Walla.. It’s actually double strained because it does come with an another filter. , so I fill it with water and it has its filter so when the machine gets low on water. I popped the top off pour it and Walla. When other little tip that I absolutely love is that you do not have to wait for the water tank to warm up. The minute you push that button it automatically starts. Last but not least in opening up the top to put your pod in keep in mind that when you close it, you need to press just a little Pressure to wait for it to snap. because it’s new. I had used the Hamilton Beach single serve “scoop” model for a few years as my only coffee maker. I wanted to upgrade so I had the ability to make a full pot when I had company. Saw this with the single serve side and ability to use k cups and decided to get it. I really like it. The single serve side is an upgrade from the Scoop model. It allows you to use K cups or your own coffee. The scoop always dripped for a minute or so after brewing and made a mess so I always had an old towel in front of the machine. Not a problem with this one. When it’s done brewing it stops dripping. Works great with either my own coffee or K cups. Also, the scoop model always seemed to leave a few grinds in the cup, I haven’t had that happen with this model. The full carafe side works great too - no complaints there. I made a pot using a paper filter so I can’t speak to the permanent filter it came with. My only mild criticism is when using K cups you have to be careful the latch is secured. I had a couple brews that got interrupted because it popped open and stopped brewing (but closing it and pushing the brew button again restarted the brewing I didn’t waste a cup). Now that I am aware of this I am extra careful when closing it and no problems. Also the single serve side takes significantly longer than a keurig machine; but that doesn’t really bother me, but I can see some people who are accustomed to a Keurig machine being annoyed by that. ... show more

Great set-up and makes a good cup of coffee. The reusable filter and the multiple brewing options are awesome! I do have two complaints though. One is when you use a finely ground coffee in the single cup side it overflows due to the grounds being to fine for the water to filter through the coffee at the rate it dumps the water on it. I have to watch over it which is a pain. Second is the high pitched sound it puts off. It’s not an issue during the days or busy times but when it quiets down around you the high pitch sound is clear. This issue may be a flaw with only the one I received and not something that is common with them. ... show more

Needed a new coffee pot to replace a single function pod pot. Wanted a dual use one so could get rid of one pot that only did carafes. This dual use pot is fantastic! Easy to set up timer to make a pot next morning, and can make individual cups with either pods or ground coffee in either regular or bold strengths, Very easy to clean as stores no water so no Build up. The carafe side works great. The pod side explodes. When I contacted Hamilton Beach about the pod side exploding, it was reccomended that I change my water. And to change the brand of pods. Let me just go to my private unleaded purest of pure mountain water stream to just "not make my machine explode." Oh and buy the most expensive pods. Because "the majority of customers have found with this machine, that changing the pod brand has helped them not have the machine explode on them." I've used store brand pods, I've used Starbucks brand pods, I've used green mountain brand pods. When I go to make my own pod with coffee grounds,( trying to be more eco-friendly) the pod still explodes. It has gotten to the point where we have to do a rain dance with the pods to make sure it doesn't explode. We also have tried not taking the water reservoir off to fill it, thinking maybe that might help prevent bubbles in the line. Doesn't matter what we do the pods still explode in some way or another. I have spent more time taking this machine apart and cleaning it than I have to actually brew coffee. Which let me tell you, is awesome to do right after you get up and the machine says " over load" I purposely bought this machine because of the glowing reviews. Don't buy this machine. You're better off having 4 different types of machines on your counter taking up all the space than combining them all into this machine. ... show more
