Purchase this to reliquify honey in a 5 gallon bucket. It was too big you could not get it tight around a standard 5 gallon bucket and was not hot enough to do anything.

Although this bucket heater has many uses cases, mine was primarily to prevent a small chicken watering bucket from freezing during very cold temps. This fits a 15 gallon bucket and has an adjustable temperature gauge that unfortunately does not provide any actual temperature read out. It is only on/off with a variation between them. Per the one sheet instructions that came with it, it can range between 104-158 degrees F. It runs on 120 v AC and plugs in via a standard US outlet. I think I will try to use this for warming honey from the hives as well. It should do the job depending on how thick the bucket wall is. ... show more

This works just like the other one I have. It gets up to temp fairly quick and it keeps everything nice and toasty. Once you get it dialed in to the you goldilocks zone you are good to go. This is very well made and I hope it lasts a long time.

I sometimes buy oil in bulk for my truck to save funds. In the winter the oil is very slow to move. Wrapping this around the drum will help to alleviate that and make it easier to use. This product is a little large for a 5 gallon container, there is a smaller one from this company for that depending on your needs. It plugs into a standard outlet and will heat up in just a couple of minutes. Heat varies based on where you turn the dial, from 104 to 154 degrees I believe it said in the instructions. There is a zipper on one end where you can see the insulation and the wires in case you need access. Two buckles allow you to cinch the warmer to your barrel. Note: You do not want to constantly fold this item, and never when hot to keep from damaging the unit. ... show more

I used this for melting honey that had crystalized in a 5 gallon bucket. It is important to not overheat the honey or it will loose quality. The adjustable controller on this allowed me to set the temp where I wanted and slowly melt the honey. The blanket spreads the heat out evenly and avoids hot spots. It would be nice if the dial had more visible markings so I could see the adjustments I was making better. The straps that hold the blanket on are good but not arranged for a 5 gallon pail. I tied some shoe laces around it to hold it on the 5 gallon bucket. I tried the blanket on different drums and found a 30 gallon was the one it fit the best. This is expensive but it does work well. I would not buy it again because it doesn't work well with 5 gallon buckets. ... show more

All right this is made out of some pretty good, quality materials, but the temperature dial that you have to turn to have it either be super hot or kind of cool has absolutely zero markings on it. So I have no way to know how hot I've got this thing set to. It really would have been helpful to have even just like a white line on it so I could tell A) Where I started from and B) How far I turned it. I also have a hard time believing it gets to 158°. Some chemicals have pretty specific heating limits so not knowing where it's at on the dial is really frustrating. I do like the clips and they feel solid. I also like the thickness of the rubbery material that makes up the blanket. This should have some longevity to it. I'm not sure if I would buy this again. I feel Like for the price; you should know how hot or not your getting something, especially chemicals. ... show more
