Video professionals have long debated whether lighting or the camera make the picture. I say both, and in this light you can't go wrong in having plenty of it. My first impression of this product was how heavy it was. It comes in a very night, well padded case with cable, bowens mount cone and power supply. Also included are some velcro straps to keep your rather long power cable in check. The light puts out an ENOURMOUS amount of light - as a key light it only need operate at 30% or less. For large productions where you want a nigh even light on a scene or want to create the effect of sunlight coming through a window, this can do the trick. The light comes with several effects, which may be more of a gimmick than a useful tool, but they are there if you need them. I always get bi-color lights, as they tend to be more versatile in varying lighting conditions, but never have I owned one as powerful as this one. It can simulate a sunset or high noon lighting and with a rather crude app you can control some of the features from your phone. The mechanics are silent and the light is of sufficient quality - although I have not checked it against my light meter for accuracy, the light seems to put out a good quality of light. For the price, it is a great entry level light, without having to sacrifice quality over time. This light will be a main light for me going forward. Due to how heavy it is, i would recommend using this with a C-Stand and some sand bags, especially if you use this on a set with a softbox. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. For my first pro light I could not be happier. Great product the light intensity is crazy bright I keep at at about 5percent in my studio so I know if I need to crank it it definitely has the juice I would need. I’m buying more from GVM I’m impressed

We just shot a horror movie in the middle of the night and this was perfect! I couldn’t have asked for better! And now my wife uses this to do eyelash extensions because it’s so bright. It can be mounted to the ceiling and doesn’t get in the way of her hands.

The light was great, but less than a month using it I started to get a temperature error after the light was on for about 20 min, the light started blinking. Changed the fans to High, but still got the same error. The error got worse, now if I turn the light on at 0.1% or any intensity, after about 2 minutes I get the same error, the fans are on High, I'm in a A/C room, but still get the same temperature error, so now it's completely useless. ... show more

Super bright and budget friendly.. i attached some barn doors to one and a fresnel to the other and I’m really impressed.!! LEDs are the way to go!! And these are 80watts of power!!

I agree with other reviewers that the build quality power and features of this kit are really great for the cost. Being able to get a 400W light with a stand and a soft box at a sub-$500 price point would have been impossible just a few years ago. In the case of my kit I found a couple of easily rectified quality control issues which I reported to the manufacturer over a week ago and have yet to receive a satisfactory response. One of the control knobs was missing, and the front bezel of the light was poorly molded or cast, leaving several high spots (photos) that keep the soft box collar from going in far enough to lock in place. I got an initial response from GVM the same day but radio silence thereafter despite several follow up emails, and the voicemail for their customer service phone number is full. I really, REALLY want to like this product, and I'll update this review immediately if things change, but for now I'd advise caution about buying one of these lights. Based on my experience thus far, if you have a problem you may very well be on your own. ... show more
