I like the looks of the machine. I love the blue color. The assembly not not so much. Getting the change out from the gum ball machine is atrocious. I would have given assembly a one star but I gave up and my hubby put it together so it got a four lol. You have to pretty much disassemble the whole thing to get the change out of the bottom. It’s just for me to have in my craft room for the cool retro factor. We go all out at Halloween. This year is a circus theme and we will put it out with a dish of quarters at Halloween for kiddies and it goes perfectly with the popcorn machine we have. I purchased the recommended base and rainblo gum balls, it is very sturdy. If it had some sort of coin release mechanism this would be the perfect gum ball machine. The media could not be loaded. Was able to eliminate the requirements for quarters since I use this at recruiting and corporate events; machine is now free use and full rotations still release a gumball (or in my case a 1" surprise ball). From the inside it looks like it can accommodate a larger gumball or ball but attempted to use a 2" with no success. This is a nice sleek blue gumball machine. Easy to customize. Did not use for any unpackaged perishable/edible items. Works very well with the plastic surprise balls. Would recommend, even as a small fixture on the house if there are kids like mine that love a surprise or prize! ... show more

    • Great product with one significant flaw

The build quality is good. The mechanism is entirely metal as is the base and the top. The rest is tough plastic. Operating the turn mechanism is satisfying. The machine is big enough to be way more than some tchochke. The significant flaw is that it cannot accept newly-minted quarters. The edges on newer quarters are finer than on older ones and (I'm guessing this is why) they get caught in the coin slot and they are sometimes very stuck. If anybody has a solution I'd love to hear it as this would be an otherwise fantastic product if not for this flaw... I would recommend this for personal use or as a gift. Commercial use may be more of a hassle than it's worth. ... show more

First, the machine is really nice. I love the look of it, it's a beautiful yellow color, it's very sturdy and seems to be very durable. I bought this to replace an older vending machine I've had for years that I keep on my kitchen counter, so it's entirely for personal use and I'm not a vending machine expert. The item came fully assembled, but without an instruction manual. When I attempted to use it, the quarter wouldn't slide down enough into the slot for the dial to turn. Without a manual, there was no way to troubleshoot in order to confirm the unit was assembled correctly. I also wanted to convert the unit to a free spin, so including the instructions would have been helpful for that purpose as well. I ended up doing some online research and I was ultimately able to figure it out, but it did require complete disassembly of the entire dial component. Again, including some sort of instruction manual, or having the ability to download it from the website would have saved a lot of time and frustration. However, now that it's done, I do love it! ... show more

    • Does not accept all US quarters!

This machine was a gift and is basically useless junk. It does not work with all US quarters as it gets hung up on the thickness. It would not fit a 2017 quarter along with others. It's a frustrating guess as to which will fit. I can't even return it bc it is past 30 days. And I'm out $100.
