  • Just get this, not cheaper options.
Just get this. Don't buy the cheaper options, you will regret it. This stand is AMAZING. It is super sturdy, super adjustable, and easy to move and fold up. I have limited space and use my desk area for other things too, so I needed something I can easily put away. You can easily put this away and fold it up in less than thirty seconds without unscrewing anything. The only thing though is if you fold it up the pedal platform sticks out but you can get it pushed in easily just by pushing the pedal platform up. You would adjust it like you were raising the angle but keep pushing it up until its even with the rest of it. The hardware is high quality, and the tools are well made and good enough for assembling it. The instructions are super clear, except for the mounting points for some of the wheels and pedals as some are slightly incorrect. Pros of this mount: Easy to fold up Folds up to be compact Can fold up with all of the gear on it Height of the steering wheel and angle of the pedals iare easy to adjust without needing tools Very sturdy Comes with high quality hardware and tools Isn't very expensive compared to other full sim rigs Can be put in front of a desk Almost all details on it can be adjusted Mostly clear instructions Does not scratch the floor Adjustable feel if you have an uneven floor Cons: Heavy and hard to move long distances Needs tools to adjust angle of steering wheel and to slide the pedals up and down the platform The instruction has the incorrect holes listed for some the steering wheels and pedals (the actual holes are correct for the comparable ones just the instruction tells you to use the wrong ones) ... show more

  • Sturdy-Highly Adjustable-Compact Storage-!Heavy!
NO MIDDLE BAR and METAL FRAME I'm 6'3" and I couldn't comfortably use the Wheel Stand Pro (a fine product itself, just not for me). The lack of this bar requires that Omega uses a frame. Their metal frame gives it a larger footprint than the WSP and it is considerably heavier. But, the lack of that middle bar makes the Omega an easy product to recommend if you are having issues with the former's kind of construction. COMPACT STORAGE but NOT EASY TO MOVE: It is easy to fold up and get ready to move. The swing-arm design of the footboard EASILY slides forward allowing the frame to collapse down with a gentle push. The frame can fold to a fully vertical position with the attachments still on it--but you would need to secure it to stop it from tipping. Giving it a little triangle base allows it to stay quite compact if you are just sliding it out of the way in your gaming area. The picture I included shows it folded up with my gaming chair for scale. My desk's sitting area is in a corner of a small apartment room and it has about 22 sq. ft. for my chair, this wheel stand, and a small bookcase. They all fit easily with room to slide around and use the space--even with the stand deployed! However, as compact, as it can be, the heavy metal frame makes it quite unwieldy to tote around. It is not likely something you will want to drag out for a short 20-minute game session and then put back up on a regular basis. For example, if you are using this at your PC where you work/play other games--moving this in and out each evening might become a chore. Once it is set, you're probably going to want to use it for a while and vice-versa once stored. There's nothing wrong with moving it as needed, but it is going to be an investment of time and exertion to get it set up. STURDY AND SECURE: Despite the ability to collapse for storage, this is a strong frame and remains sturdy when deployed for play. The foot pedals are locked into place and will accept heavy input without sliding on the floorboard. The wheel does not tilt once it is locked down. There are rubber feet that keep the frame from moving and your floor protected. These feet are height-adjustable allowing you to compensate for any unevenness in your floor. ADJUSTABLE? (YES and NO): Wheel height is highly adjustable and easy to move through tension knobs. Pedal length is highly adjustable for any driver's size. However, to achieve security for play the pedal base is bolted to the frame using 2 or 4 screws (G27). Once the pedals are installed, if you wanted to adjust them, you would be required to get on the floor, swing the floorboard forward, reach underneath and loosen/retighten the screws between each adjustment. If you are playing in a small space and/or sharing this rig with a spouse of a different height or between kids of varying ages, this could become very tiresome. The gear shift can be mounted on the left or right side of the frame. However, the height is set by the length of its attachment bar which is not adjustable. And, the shifter drops down pretty low. This feels fantastic and quite natural for driving, but if you are using an office chair with high armbars that are not adjustable, you may have to let your arm hang free off the side while shifting--that could be wearying after a while. SIMPLE INSTALLATION: Pretty easy task. The instructions are basic in the now typical IKEAesque picture formats. There was no mention of which screw to use to mount specific accessories but it wasn't hard to figure that out. CHECK FOR YOUR PARTS before assembling. My box was missing a nut and a couple of screws had fallen out of the plastic bags they were in and became stuck on the tape of the frame's packaging. If I hadn't counted, those could have easily ended up in the trash. Given that there are seemingly extra pieces depending on which wheel you are installing, it didn't cause an issue. Due to the inability to easily adjust the pedals after installation, if you are putting this in a small space or under a desk, make sure you adjust the pedal length during installation before locking them down and moving it to your gaming area (lesson learned the hard way) :) VALUE: This wheel stand is fantastic and worth the money. It is INFINITELY more fun to drive both in American Truck Simulator as well as F1 2020 without a middle bar to contend with. Short of having a racing seat, I think this is probably your best bet. Take some measurements of your gaming space and plan ahead for storage, this is a larger gaming accessory and it is heavy. I wouldn't pick this up if I was a casual driver who is only going to spend 20-30 minutes at a time in front of their gaming system or regular work PC. I think there are easier options for you. But, if you are looking to try and immerse more into driving games and you are going to invest some time into them, I'd highly suggest this product. It is comfortable to use, it feels natural when you drive. 5/5 stars -- I'd love easier pedal adjustments and the inability to adjust the gear shift height is a little annoying. But for me, as this is set up only for myself and I don't have to deal with that again, I'm not taking a star off for it. :) ... show more

  • Rock solid wheel stand
I was a little hesitant and sceptical about getting a wheels stand. I came from having a (basic) complete sim rig setup. Few years ago had to get rid of it due to a lack of space in the new living situation. Started looking again and was a little hesitant and sceptical about wheel stands. Even my basic rig wasn't the most stable thing in the world and it was attached the the seat. Decided to pull the trigger on this and it surpassed my expectations. Pros: Heavy duty Easy to set up All the hardware you could ever ask for Cons: A little bigger and heavier than I'd though it would be Folding and storage can be a challenge Wheel plate will not hold desk clamp This thing is big and beefy. All my fears that it would be shaking and move around are gone. This is sturdy. So much so what I should have been more worried about the office chair moving backwards rather then the stand. Now with that stability comes mass. It's not a light thing. So moving it around can be a bit of hassle. And on the subject of moving it. It's not always set up for me and I cleared out a space under my bed for it when not in use. Even fully collapsed down the wheel rim does stick out beneath the twin mattress. And there isn't any way I can rotate it lengthwise. Also if you do happen to use the shifter mount, that will cut down on how far it collapses. If you had a full size closet, storage wouldn't be a problem. But it's definitely not built for pulling in and out of storage often. But another benefit is it is modular. If you wanted to later down the road, you can order a seat stand to convert this into a full rig that fully integrates the stand and seat. The last thing I will mention is the hardware included. It has everything so you can hard mount anything and everything you want. Wheel, pedals, shifter all covered. And you'll want to hard mount the wheel. The desk mount I had for my thrustmaster wheel would not fit correctly so you will need to hard mount it. Unfortunately the Thrustmaster T150 doesn't have a factory hard mount option. You'll have to buy an adapter plate from ricmotech or other vendor. All in all very sturdy rig. Will not got anywhere. And the weight and bulk of it is worth being able to use a wheel again in my case. ... show more
